The hotel is nice, a typical SpringHill Suites. However, the staff are exceptional! We ended up needing an additional room. Anthony Frie was very kind and understanding. He helped us get an additional room and went the extra mile trying to get us a price close to what we originally reserved for our first room. He didn't have to do so, but it meant a lot that he did.
My wife and daughter are gluten free and dairy free. Matthew Parks, the hotel manager, was cleaning up the breakfast area and asked my wife and daughter how he could help them not knowing their allergies. After they explained their limitations, he surprised them with two gluten free dairy free muffins from the back! Once again, he wasn't asked, but went above and beyond.
Our stay was made extra enjoyable by Mr. Frie and Mr. Parks! Thank you!

My husband Michael and I stayed for 6 weeks at this hotel while he was going thru some treatments st the Carolina East Hospital. We were treated like family by all of the staff...and during a tough emotional time, their care and attention to our needs was so very much appreciated. The managers Matthew and Brynn are very much appreciated by their staff. They were very visible during our stay helping guests, helping the breakfast crew cleaning the breakfast area, and just being available for questions or a smile and hello. Breakfast each morning was a healthy and delicious mix of offerings, the breakfast ladies Katie(always greeting me with a smile and asking how Mike and our puppy Bailey were doing)Lillian and Linetta kept everything well stocked and fresh looking..and always with a smile. The front desk staff was so helpful when we asked for extra pillows or any little thing, again always professional and with a smile. Venus, Giovanna and Chaz were just the best! Brooke made a special trip to bring treats and a special toy to our Bailey, who fell in love with her. Bailey would go down the hotel halls to seek her out, and Brooke would stop mopping , vacuuming or one of the many jobs she does to keep the hotel sparkling to love on Bailey. The maintenance man, Boris, made sure our television was promptly fixed when it was having issues, again with a smile. When it was time for us to check out, we felt like we were leaving family. Everyone at Springhill Suites New Bern should be very proud of the excellent job they are doing!

We stayed here for two nights April 27-28. There was no silverware or oversized chair as advertised for the room. The TV did not swivel to the sofa area; we had to move the entire dresser to see the TV from the sofa. I had hoped to do my laundry during this stay, but the laundry room was out of order. The bathroom sink did not hold water. The wet bar sink also didn't hold water because the stopper was missing a gasket. There was a large shower, but no tub to wash clothes in either. The refrigerator was not cooling. The TV had no channel guide and the channel displayed at the top did not correspond to the correct channel. At breakfast both days, the toaster handle was broken, and the crew didn't replace it or reset it when it didn't work at all the second day. On top of all that, the toilet paper was very cheap and I'm glad we brought our own. The good news was that the woman on the night crew stole a refrigerator and a sink stopper from another room for us. I pity the other room renter.

Upon arrival, room had not been properly cleaned. Both bed sheets had hairs all over them. Front desk lady was very nice and apologetic, provided me with all new linens to change the beds and assured me they would make things right. I had brought Clorox wipes with me and I also wiped down all surfaces since they obviously hadn’t given the room a proper cleaning. We also found a dresser drawer with contents from previous customer! Upon checkout, all the issues were brought to their attention, they were apologetic but I do not feel the small rate reduction were reflective of how bad our experience was.
I don’t expect a lot of bells and whistles but I do expect a clean room! I will also note I reviewed this property through a Marriott survey and again just received basic apologies, information had been given to leadership team, and I hope you will stay with us again. Nope, I will never stay here again and will not refer anyone to stay at this poorly managed property.

We had an EXCELLENT stay at the SpringHill Suites. Facility was cleaned to perfection, room very comfortable. The greeting at the main desk was very friendly and helpful. Typically when I came back for the day, I would drop my wife off and leave her (in her wheel chair) in the lobby while I parked the car. The gentleman at the front desk (Anthony) always engaged my wife in conversation, asking how our day went and made some excellent restaurant recommendations for our following day. These recommendations were spot on. Other staff members were equally friendly and helpful. One individual took extra time to my young nephew make his waffle.

Chose this hotel because its a Marriott property and had location I wanted as well as indoor pool. I stay at a lot of hotels for work and I mainly care about cleanliness.
However, this place - this modest place in New Bern blew me away with the kindness. I'm originally from New Bern so it isn't like its just a superficial southern hospitality thing.
I was working in the dining area and hoping to get coffee before it was tossed for the day. Mrs. Katie asked how I was doing and told me "I'm so glad you decided to stay here". That sincere gesture of kindness was so powerful. She stopped what she was doing and arranged that someone else later could dispose of the coffee after she left. She wanted to leave it a little longer since I was there working.
Others in the hotel were also kind and helpful - we had kids with us and were coming from the West Coast. So we needed a little more than usual. But Mrs. Katie is stuck in my mind. She also helped me our last morning at breakfast. She was there to help customers - that was her heartfelt desire.
So the hotel was clean and comfortable and that alone would bring me back. But based on the people, especially Mrs. Katie, I will not stay at any other hotel in New Bern. This is our place from now on.

I would truly like to say Ms. Chazitee, was breath of fresh air fully of kindness and extremely courteous. She went over and beyond to make sure that my experience was well stayed at the spring Hill Marriott this was my first time and she really made a big difference when I came into this hotel I really appreciate her for all of her help and everything she has done. The room was extremely clean surface from the outside to the inside was just great even down to breakfast breakfast was extremely good fresh they kept the area very clean I would definitely stay here again.

We had approximately 25 rooms for a family gathering and this hotel went above and beyond to be accommodating and helpful to us. The rooms were nice and clean and the staff amazing particularly Anthony and Brynn. We thank you for your kindness during our stay.

My family recently stayed at the hotel for a funeral. We are not from New Bern and had no idea where to stay. We decided on the Spring Hill Suites after speaking with the manager who was beyond helpful. Our experience was all around an A+!! Everyone we dealt with was such a pleasure to work with. The staff and service were amazing!!! They set up a block of rooms for us at a great rate. They gave us a conference/banquets room to use at no charge so that we could have dinners together each night. Anything we needed, they bent over backwards to accommodate us. Both mornings some of us came downstairs after breakfast was closed, and the staff went out of their way to get us food. The rooms were perfect. If/when we are ever back in New Bern, I plan stay here again. We can’t thank you enough for making an incredibly difficult time, a little sweeter!

I had 8 cheerleaders who swam in the pool 2 nights in a row. The pool area was clean and the water was clear. I did not see any of what the other traveler mentioned, and my girls had a great time.
Yes, there is a $50 pet fee.
