After a delayed flight and a long travel day, she welcomed me in the middle of the night with a huge smile and made sure I was settled in in no time. She was amazing! We stay at this Hampton Inn every summer while we drop off and pick up our children from a nearby summer camp. The staff is accommodating and respectful. On our most recent stay, the housekeeper who prepared our room did an especially good job cleaning our room. It was notably cleaner than our first stay this summer; as clean as the four-star hotel that we stayed at in another town earlier in the summer. The breakfast is very good with reliable selections. On our first stay, our son enjoyed the outdoor pool and pool towels were provided upon request. Maintenance responds to calls during weekdays only but maintenance issues are addressed as quickly as possible when they do occur, which is not often. In over a dozen stays over six years, we have only ever had to make one maintenance call, and the issue did not significantly affect the functioning of the room while we were there. Rooms overlooking the pool are quiet. Beds are very comfortable as in all Hampton Inns. This is a reliable Hampton Inn and we will continue to stay here when in New Bern.

Everything about this Hampton Inn location lived up to the standard: Quiet, nice staff, clean room.
Oddly, though, there was no guest laundry available. We went down the street to the laundry the front desk person recommended, since we were in desperate need of getting laundry done, and it was still early. That place had a person on duty the whole time it was open, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

There was clearly a roach problem in my room after finding 4 baby roaches in the bathroom. After seeing the third and a dangly earring within the coffee assortment tray in the bathroom (the earring was not mine), I decided to request my room be cleaned. After the room was cleaned, I ended up finding the fourth roach. Luckily I was leaving the next day. I did not feel comfortable with the cleanliness of the room. Aside, the hotel staff was nice and the free breakfast had a great assortment of hot/cold items.

The room was well taken care of, there was an issue with the shower drain, I let the front desk staff know and it was resolved by the time I came back in the evening. I was a little surprised that they didn’t have a guest laundry, but the front desk staff let me know there was one available next door at a sister property(meh). The gym was being refurbished(March 2023)(also one available next door). The higher rating comes from an issue that arose from a double booking issue that arose. Somehow I was double booked for a night(they called at 11 pm to sort it out(meh). The next morning while talking with the front desk to resolve it I spoke with Lisa (she was very busy with serving breakfast as well as the front desk). She was able to resolve the issue of being billed a no show fee as well as checking me out early, canceling the rest of my stay( due to change in work plans) and was upbeat and helpful, thanks agin Lisa. Not the best place I’ve stayed but not the worst by far.

We recently stayed at this hotel during the COVID problem. The hotel was very clean and the employees all worked hard to keep it clean and connect with us during our stay thru text message, instead of in person. We opted to not have any room housekeeping during our stay. We requested clean towels and other necessities from the cleaning staff on our floor and they were happy to provide them to us. The outdoor pool area is attractive. This hotel is located near the interstate but it was very quiet. It is about 2 miles from downtown historic New Bern. The only negative was the very limited breakfast offerings (coffee cake, breakfast bar, granola bar, water, orange and sometimes bananas, grits and sometimes oatmeal, coffee and tea) We understand why they cannot offer more things but will look forward to getting back to normal in hotel travel once safe. The beds and sheets were excellent, room stayed cool during our very hot stay. Our room was quiet but just a bit outdated.

Especially with Covid going on you would think hotels would make more of an effort to clean the rooms. Bathroom floor was greasy, beds were old, rug was greasy and smelly, microwave was old, TV was old, coffee maker had soap in it. Water never got hot. Coffee was terrible, was afraid to try the food.

Hands down the friendliest hotel staff I’ve had the pleasure of being around. And I’ve never felt the need to write a review for a hotel before now. The level of service far exceeded my expectations. At breakfast the continental breakfast not only had a great selection but was also surprisingly delicious. Then one person offered to clear my empty plate for me and not in the way where I felt like they were trying to get rid of me. Someone else offered bottled water a little later. Then I’m the evening there was a small platter of cookies and they went back boiled tea water to make sure I had a nice hot cup of tea. Hope the staff get recognized for their exceptional service as they definitely deserve it. Will stay here again without hesitation next time I’m in town!

Clean rooms, friendly staff, comfortable beds. My husband left his wallet and the front desk called by that afternoon to let us know they had it safely at the desk and offered to ship it back if we were unable to pick it up. Very pleased with the hotel and staff.

I know they just some pool upgrades while I was there, call the staff they are amazing.
Not at all. My sister, who stays with me when we visit to see my parents, is SUPER allergic to cats and has asthma. This is our home away from home for 10 years now (our parents moved from NY) and they have been wonderful, especially when our Dad passed. We always request hypo-allergic pillows although I do believe all their pillows are hypo-allergic. They have no feather pillows. They made special efforts when she was hit with a migraine a few years.
