Our flight was cancelled as soon as we got to the airport due to short staff. This was right at the height of Omicron and national news about flights being cancelled on this day. The "Manager" Nicole Jackson was just horrible, 0% compassion and 0% etiquette when I asked to not be charged. We were in no way prepared that day to make the 9 hour drive that night in lieu of our flight. She did not listen and refused to give me the Owners phone number but did go ahead and provide me a bogus name for him. They tried to charge my card for the night even though the circumstance was out of our control. This type of service would never be tolerated at a quality hotel, more along the lines of the dirtiest gas station at 3 am.. Going now through BBB. You will not take my money!
Needed an overnight room for a business deal. Reserved and paid for the room thru Expedia. When I got to the hotel I was charged an extra $18.14 for incidentals. Incase we made a phone call. We were suppose to get it back. Never did. Hate hidden fees!!!! Oh yeah, had two bath matts and only one towel. Had to go to the desk to rectify. And the carpet turned my white socks black. So much for shampooing the carpet.
The hotel is small but clean. Breakfast is included. It is a bit difficult to find since its located atop a mountain. The view is beautiful. Service was friendly. Covid guidelines and social distancing were observed.
My husband and I are in the midst of cleaning my dad's house preparing for an Estate Sale and then selling the house. After days of working non stop, we decided we needed a break, so at 5:00 pm on a Friday night, we decided to head to Murphy NC for an overnight stay. My first thought was to stay at the Casino hotel. Apparently the beds there are made of gold as they wanted $499 a night. Not happening. So I did a quick internet search and found the Holiday Inn Express. We arrived around 6:30 and were quickly checked in. We had a King room that was very large on the 2nd floor. We dropped our stuff and headed to the Casino. We got back to the hotel around 10:30 ish and discovered that our TV didn't work. My husband made a call to the front desk and they gave him some troubleshooting tips, but that didn't work. After a 2nd call to the desk, Jeffery came up to our room and took a look at the TV. Within minutes he was able to diagnose the problem and got the TV to work! Kudos to Jeffery! The next morning, we went down to see what the breakfast situation was. With Covid, I really expected a banana and a muffin to go, but surprisingly, they had a full breakfast offering. The young lady in charge was very efficient and friendly and put our orders in to-go containers for us to take back to our rooms to eat. It was a pleasant surprise. Although it's not the closest hotel to the Casino, but it did look much newer than some of the others we passed, I would certainly recommend this hotel. It's clean, the staff is friendly and accomodating, parking is free.......all things that add up to a good stay!…
Quiet and clean. Easy access and close to some of the eating places. Ask for a front view unless u wanna get stuck with a view of a car port and shed. They provide free breakfast but am not sure of the details. They have free parking.
This property is located on the west side of Murphy. It is a little hard to see at first, but once you know where it is, you can find it again. The staff was friendly and given the virus issues, it seemed clean and sanitized. The bed and pillows were excellent. We did have a maintenance issue with a stopped up toilet and the safety bar on the door was not very secure. That was disappointing.
We stay at this hotel every year during Christmas while visiting family in the area. It is clean and located centrally for us. During this year's stay, we encountered a few issues that were frustrating. On the second morning, our television stopped working. We went to the front desk about 9 am to let them know. We told staff that we would not be returning until late that night and if we needed to change rooms, we would like to do it now. We were reassured that the tv would be fixed or the cable boxes switched out while we were out for the day. When we returned at 11 pm, the tv was still not working. We went back to the front desk and were told that no one had looked at it, as promised. So, we were forced to change rooms late at night, with two children. This was frsutrating due to the lack of follow-up. The room that we were switched to had multiple electrical outlets that were loose (the cord would not stay plugged into the outlet tightly). This was also frustrating, especially in the bathroom where you had to try to hold the plug in with one hand while drying your hair. This stay did not meet our expectations based on past visits.…
Went to visit family and needed a quiet hotel to decompress and this was it. Rooms were clean and quiet, looked as if they were recently renovated, and the staff were awesome and I wasnt to especially recongize Ms. Hope, she greeted me after a very long drive with her Southen hospitality and it brighten my day.
This was our second stay in this hotel, and we enjoyed it! The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, and the bed was comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was awesome! The breakfast was convenient—I especially liked the oatmeal, with the option of adding goodies like walnuts, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Yum.
We stayed here for one night while working at Hiwasse. I don't have too much to say other than that it was a typical Holiday Inn Express. My room was clean and spacious. The wifi seemed pretty legit. I didn't try any breakfast, but it looked edible. Wish I could say more. By the way, if you have a big truck and trailer, then I recommend parking in the grass lot next to the property. Boom!
