After receiving a bad experience at another hotel, Cynthia was a bright light. She was very professional and welcoming to help us feel comfortable after having to change hotels at the last minute. She provided great customer service. Crystal was also great during our stay. She was pleasant, friendly, and made us feel welcome. Both ladies helped to make our vacation better and we are very appreciative.

We recently stayed here on a trip to Morehead City and Atlantic Beach. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice and roomy. There is no daily room cleaning unless you ask to have something specifically cleaned. Overall the room is fairly clean. The floors are tiled with just a rug by the beds. I would assume this is due to being located near the beach. The beds and pillows are comfy and the rooms are pretty quiet. Breakfast is decent but sometimes slow coming out if you get there early. Seems to be a safe area. No issues and would stay here again.

You can’t beat the view at the Hampton Inn but needed to move to Holiday Inn Express because of the a/c mold smell coming from the units.
The Holiday Inn was so welcoming, quiet, coffee is good but the employees are so so nice. The woman at the desk when I checked in just couldn’t be more accommodating. She went out of her way to make me feel comfortable. The pet rooms are a bit sterile but all new and no smell from the A/C at all. I’m just extra sensitive.
The employees at the Hampton Inn were also really nice and tried so hard to help me but I just couldn’t overcome the odor. Yet my boss doesn’t smell it and stays there year round during the week for work. But that VIEW is so pretty.
All in all the people at both places are wonderful.

Check in was a nightmare. The front desk person (Cherokee) was completely rude, unhelpful, unprofessional, and made me feel as though I was bothering (because she had to put down her cell phone!) her by asking to check in. She never asked about welcome amenity, never recognized my premier membership status, never asked how many keys etc., just wanted me to go away.
Spoke to the general manager the next morning (Marcie) who was very apologetic and offered to add some points to my account (which never happened) and wrote me a nice note.
Two days later ( a 4-night stay) I spoke to the morning front desk person (after getting her attention from the back office area where she was playing on her cell phone) and asked to have my room serviced that day with fresh towels etc. She said "no problem". Got back to the room at 10 PM to find that NOTHING had been done. Had to call down to the front desk and go down and at least get fresh towels.
The breakfast was horrible. almost every hot item, sausage, bacon, biscuits and the omelets were burned and cold EVERY morning. The guy that was apparently servicing the breakfast area spent more time outside than he ever did taking care of business. The coffee area was consistently out of cream, the counter top was filthy, and the coffee was Luke-warm at best and some of the pots actually were filled with coffee grinds.
Finally, the property is filthy, the foyer, elevator area, the coffee area, and the breakfast area. Nothing vacuumed, nothing mopped. Just gross all around.
Had a reservation booked for Thanksgiving but cancelled that today. IHG needs to look into this place as it is an embarrassment to the brand.

Dirty! Bedsheets had not been changed when we checked in. Used tissue and hair in the beds. Sheets were stained. Floors had hair, brown stains and was sticky and greasy. One of the staff brought up clean sheets but they didn’t have another room to offer us and we had no where else to go. After changing sheets it was bearable and we did not get rashes or bed bugs. The manager was very responsive, apologized and gave us a 18% discount. Breakfast was decent. But, it was dirty.

We were at the Holiday Inn Express for only one night, as we drove to Morehead City to pick-up a puppy. After reading a couple of reviews that felt the hotel was less than satisfactory, we picked it due to it's ideal location for us. We were absolutely thrilled upon arrival to find that the lobby, hallways as well as our room were spotlessly clean! The hot breakfast included in the price, was more than adequate to start the morning. I am happy to share, that in our experience, the hotel was ideal as it was clean convenient and that front desk staff more than willing to help with any questions! We had an as good or better experience than in many more upscale luxury hotels we have stayed in through many years of travel.

Had a great stay here! Front desk and staff was super friendly. We were in town to move my mom so the complimentary bottled water was a huge plus. Close to restaurants and other amenities. Breakfast here was fresh. Beds were comfortable and room was clean. Ample parking. Would recommend!

We stayed for 2 nights and the experience was great! The front desk clerk Cynthia was very helpful and friendly, check in was a breeze. The lobby and public areas were very clean and bright. The room was clean and bed and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast was well stocked w scrambled eggs, sausage, gravy and biscuits as well as pancake and pastries. Overall a wonderful place to stay and well located w easy access from main roads.

This is such a nasty hotel. When I first went to my room I noticed right away it had not been vacuumed because there were crumbs all over the floor. I had to go find someone to vacuum it. I noticed after they left, the floor was still pretty dirty. The floors in the room I stayed in looked like they have never been mopped. Like ever… counters were sticky. No clean towels in the bathroom. Two random vents of some sort were propped on top of the AC and were brown and very full of dust. The shower was filthy, all dispensers were completely empty. Just when I thought it couldn’t get anymore gross, I pulled the sheets back in the bed. I wanted to vomit right there. Crumbs, blood, and hair in the bed. The maid had literally not changed the bed sheets. I was given a full refund with no questions so apparently this happens all the time. I will never stay here again and I will warn anyone else to avoid this hotel too. The only and I mean the only positive thing about this place is the friendly people who work at the front desk.

I booked a room for this past labor day wkn, was not going to be there at 3 so called and they said it was fine if i check in at 7-8 pm, arrived around 8 pm and they told me they were overbooked by 10-12 rooms, and that was that, blamed it on the computer, but i called at 5 pm , talked to front desk and i still had a room. They made no effort to find me another room, i slept in my car, and on top of that they charged me. The next day i called and raised hell and the charges were reversed, after originally telling me it would take 7-10 business days. I called several days later asking for a comp room and not at that motel because of my previous experience. They have not got back to me. Can i give 0 stars.

Unfortunately, unexpected situations cause a hotel to become oversold. In the event a hotel is forced to relocate a guest, our “Reservation Guarantee” requires the hotel to find equivalent accommodations at another hotel, and pay for the first night’s room charge. I’m sorry our guarantee was not honored. I am just glad that the hotel was able to refund your stay.
