The Park is at about 1800′ elevation in the middle of the Pisgah National Forest, nestled in a narrow valley surrounded by mountains on all sides. Beautiful Buck Creek flows through this valley and along two sides of the campground. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only about 3 miles away, but it’s 5 miles by road. We are surrounded by gorgeous mountain scenery. You can take in many of the interesting attractions that are only a short drive away or you can just relax by the stream and listen to the cold clear water flowing over the rocky stream bed. All of our sites have full hook-ups – power (30 & 50 amp), water, sewer and cable TV.

Had another wonderful 3 night stay here, such a peaceful beautiful place to unwind and relax. Extra clean and Kevin is a great host and cook. He goes out of the way to make everyone welcome. The group dinner on Thursday is a nice way to meet your neighbors and the Saturday night

Let me start by saying the campground is beautiful. We had site #2 and it was right on the water with a deck over the river. It was so relaxing. The site was spacious and very close to the bathhouse. We did not use the bathhouse since our camper has a bathroom but I went in to ch

We have a site booked in the near future and I have a few questions. Are the sites level and how is the drive up? We have a pop-up camper and are still learning how to use it. We have very little experience driving in the mountains with it and no experience parking in sites that are not level. Any suggestions for close by things to do? We have been to Linville Falls and caverns already, so we want to explore something new. We are traveling with our 8 year old, so something child friendly would be nice. Also, we will be celebrating our anniversary when we travel. We would like to grab a nice anniversary lunch while we are out exploring the area. Any suggestions? We can not wait to be sitting by the stream at MSRVP and taking in all that nature has for us!
All of our sites are level. The last 5 miles on Hwy 80 are curvy, but not enough to be a problem - we get 40 & 45 ft 5th wheels and motorhomes up here regularly. There are a number of things to do in the area. The Orchard at Altapass (just off the Blue Ridge Parkway new Little Switzerland, Emerald Village is a working gem mine near Little Switzerland that offers mine tours and you can buy buckets of dirt from the mine and do your own gem hunting. There is a mineral museum on the Parkway near Spruce Pine and the Folk Art Center on the Parkway near Swannanoa. There are also a number of waterfalls and hiking trails in the area. As for restaurants, there is Fatz on the north side of Marion, Countryside Barbeque on the south side of Marion and a couple of small trendy restaurants in downtown Marion.

Hi Mary, since you camp here often, which sites along the creek would you say are the best? "most secluded"? thank you, scott

"Anything on the Stream"
"The super sites really are amazing but all of the sites are on the river and they're all good."
"There are no "rooms", parking for RV's and Travel Trailers."
