Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I will tell you this it is not like what you see on the pictures. However, if you downgrade the pictures to an old motel that's been remodeled a little bit, then you get the picture. However, even though it wasn't like the pictures, it was a good stay. I will say it definitely has cleanliness going for it. I will say it definitely has cost-effectiveness going for it. And I will definitely say customer service is awesome here. I really should give this place average because the pictures are so different from what you actually get. However, they do have a pool and a jacuzzi. It's small but heated and indoor. I believe that Jacuzzi could use some more powerful Jets. It worked okay, but it definitely needed some service. I think the heat could have been just a little better on both the pool and in the jacuzzi. There is a way to almost go fully there indoors. It's to the back of the motel. I thought that was a better way to enter than going straight in. Especially on the colder days. I never woke up in time to eat breakfast. I heard it was a good breakfast, nothing fancy, but from the guest, I talked to average. I had no problem getting extra towels from the maids or other items I needed. I feel all the way around this is a good quality Choice Hotel. However, do not go by the pictures. I think you will be badly disappointed if you expect it to look like those pictures. I'm sure Travelers will include their photos to bring it down a notch. My only complaint is that the mattresses are very hard and the pillows are very small and lumpy and not very supportive. I would suggest that if you like firm pillows, bring your own from home. I would suggest that if you don't like a mattress being very hard, you might want to stay away from this hotel. I actually have a hard mattress on purpose at home, but this mattress is even harder. Maybe since this is a frequented hotel, the mattresses will get broke in and get a little softer. I think another drawback of this hotel is that the doors do not fit well. I heard people walking outside, and it was very noticeable. Walls and floors are very thin here. Overall the very restful place to sleep until the kids get going to breakfast.

The desk clerks morning and evening were helpful and friendly.

The room floors were very wet and room smelled musky. The desk clerk offered to move us, but I said we would live with it. The second day, and the third check out day the floors were still wet.

The hot breakfast was eggs and sausage which was good. The waffle was ok. The orange juice looked like cloudy water. Did not see orange.

The best part coffee was provided in carafe mostly all day +++

Mr. Patel should never provide wet room floors to customers. They should be fresh smelling and clean, without excuses.

The desk clerks, and hot breakfast with fresh coffee made up for the bad.

Very dated, entered reception area and hit with the overwhelming smell of carpet freshener. The girl who checked us in was great.
The walk to our room, was musty and carpet dirty. Our room, i cranked the AC to mitigate the smell of carpet fresh and the cover of the AC fell off. I wrestled it back on and it fell off again the middle of the night. Beds are comfortable but the sheets don’t breath. Bathroom small and dated.
I will look elsewhere when I’m back in Maggie Valley.

Reservations were easy. The stay was not so good. First, room size was okay but bathroom was not. Extremely small with no place to put any of your gear. Even the bathtub lacked a soap holder. Second, they do not clean your room. At check in, I ask about that and was told they will clean the room once I leave. Need towels or trash emptied, that is your chore. They will give you an empty trash bag but you get rid of your own trash. They will also leave you some clean towels in the hallway but will not remove the soiled ones until you leave.
If you want to change the heating/cooling settings one must get down on your knees, reach up under the non-removable window seat and make your changes. To see the settings and make the desired change, disabled or older adults will probably need assistance. And be sure you have a flashlight as you cannot see the settings! If you elect to stay here, we wish you the best as this is my last time here.

We found the check-in process to be very smooth. The lady that checked us in was very helpful in getting our room early so a could change clothes and be on time for my volunteer work at GSNP. Our room was very spacious and fresh. The breakfast was one of the better ones.

We had a few days stay at this Quality Inn in Maggie Valley, NC while purchasing a camper. The young woman at the desk from 3-11 shift was very friendly and helpful. Not knowing the area she helped us make a stressful few days very bearable. We stayed Saturday, Sunday and Monday night, 12/10, 12/11 and 12/12/22. She suggested some great restaurants in the area as well. Thank you for being a caring person with such a great personality. Everyone was friendly but she went the extra mile. She’s a great employee!!

Do not let them give you room 107 if you are a lite sleeper. It is next to the office and the night man made so much noise. Woke me up at 11:55, I didn’t get back to sleep until 3 a.m., then woke me up again at 5:15 when he was preparing the breakfast. So needless to say I didn’t get much sleep. The day shift people were very nice, the beds and pillow were wonderful for what little time I got to use them. The rooms were clean and fresh. My only complaint with breakfast was the orange juice was water down. Being from FLORIDA we know what orange juice should taste like. 😁

I booked my hotel room a head of time on the internet. When I got to the Quality Inn in Maggie Valley the room I was given was already occupied by another individual. When I went back to the front desk and pointed this out they were not apologetic, they just simply stated let me get you another room. Which I was not happy with. I pointed out to the front service clerk that I was I single female and I was sent to a room that was already occupied and anyone could have been in there and done God knows what, and that I was given access 2 A stranger's belongings and if I was a dishonest individual could have taken whatever I wanted. I decided not to stay I had to book another hotel 4 $40 more then I booked the Quality Inn for. That Was Then yelled at by the staff member for telling her but I would not sign the receipt and asking to speak to the manager. I then demanded her name in the name of the manager. The next morning I went back to the Quality Inn, the person I spoke to at the front desk call me at the moment I don't with the night before gave me a fake name told me what her real name was and gave me a customer service number to call. I did call and Lodge a complaint and I asked to be contacted by the manager of the hotel and I still have not heard back over a week later. Very poor management.

The room was nice, bed was comfortable. The breakfast was descendant, bagels, yogurt, waffles, fruit. Only stayed 1 night, so it served its purpose. I would stay again, if in the area. Not far from Waynesville, not to much to do in the area.

This has been one of my worst hotel experiences in my decade of travel life.
1. When I arrived, the front desk used my credit card and checked someone else in, Luckily I discovered it. The front desk person said he reversed the charge. I have to check my credit card statement to make sure.
2. The keys stopped on the last day before we check out. I asked front desk to reissue keys 3 times, and each time if did not work. However, the cleaning lady was able to open my door. I had to show the front desk lady that keys are not working. She said the lock battery was dead. I had to leave my door open when I load my car. She said the fault was the battery, not the hotel.
3. They claim to provide hot breakfast, but the only thing hot was the waffle machine. Even the toaster does not work,
4....... I am running out of time to write more,
