The room was clean and looked like the pictures but we had to wait 1 1/2 hours PAST check-in to get into our room. The WIFI did NOT work nor did the cable television. On top of all of that, I had to wait 2 hours to get hot water to take a shower on Saturday night due to the fact that the inn "only has two 100 gallon water heaters" for the entire place. Very frustrated with our stay and will not stay there again.

Most of all, thank you for choosing my little place in Beautiful Maggie Valley. My family and I work very hard to make sure everyone has a great stay in a clean and comfortable room. It's unfortunate you did not enjoy your stay. 99% of of my guests have a great time even with imperfections. Sadly you are in the 1% who don't. I do hope you will return to beautiful Maggie Valley often as we have lots to offer. I would be more than happy to make lodging referrals which would be way more suitable to your needs..but at least wave as you drive by. You stayed during one of our very busiest weekends of Spring when we are full every night. If waiting 1 1/2 hour after "check-in" was a problem you should have said something. I would have offered to cancel your reservation without penalty. The day you arrived I only had to clean 9 rooms and did my very best to have the ready by 4PM but obviously I did not succeed. When you complained about the "tiling and pixelating" cable I got the cable people out within 12 hours to address the issue. They made the repairs and everything was ok (so you said) that evening when you came and complained about the water not being hot enough (you said after waiting 2 hours). The NC lodging inspectors require my water be between 112-117 degrees and they test it during inspections. it just so happens that you and everyone else on the property decided to bathe at the same time. That will strain any system no matter the capacity (you waited over 2 hours to complain -- no one else on the property complained). Once you finally complained, 2 hours later, I immediately went to the heaters and turned them up 40 degrees. The next morning you said it was back to good. You never complained about not being able to access the Internet. Your room, 101' is rbetween the two access points (the closest being 40 feet away, the other 50feet). Everyone else was able to get on the system except a 20 minute window around 4 am. If you had complained about that I would have addressed that too.

I have been staying here for months. I travel to Waynesville several times a month. This is a small simple motel, with nice amenities a microwave ,coffee pot refrigerator with a couple bottles of water. 2 areas outside with fire pits and a grill. The rooms are clean. Alan the owner is very accommodating. After staying one night I mention to Alan That I wished he allowed animals because I have several dogs that often travel with me. He said no problem. When I said they were a large breed dog ( German Shorthaired Pointers ). He was still okay with it. They are well trained but size can intimate folks. Alan charges very reasonable rates for animals. The location is great it's between Waynesville and Maggie Valley. The H & H is right off the road. I haven't ever noticed any road

We love this place and we found it by accident searching for a place to stay while traveling with our 3 furry children in October. Alan is so nice and accommodating he feels like an ole friend. Example: putting us on the end room, ground level when he saw me in a walking 'boot' and my husband's handicap plates also making it easier to take the boys 'out' to do their business. Our room was spic-n-span clean and included a fridge, a microwave, a comfy bed and fluffy towels! Love the price! We have paid double, almost triple, for rooms (because of the name) that we were not near as pleased with. Just stayed here again on New Years Eve and decided that this will be our new lay over place when traveling from our home in the Missouri Ozarks to Jacksonville, Florida for family

The hotel is run by a really nice guy. Very welcoming to us. Rooms are comfortable with soft thick towels, good thread count sheets, and a very comfortable bed. No frills, but very clean and comfortable. Pet friendly... A must for us when we travel with our fur children. Great location to the gateway of the Smokies!

We had planned on driving through the night, but realized around 9 pm we should probably stop. We hadn't made any reservations, so decided to try to find a place to spend the evening. We drove a few moments, and spotted a sign for Hearth and Home. It looked nicely kept and very welcoming. Little did we know, the most welcoming part would be the fun, kind owner, Alan. He not only had a vacancy, but allowed a fellow Veteran the kindness of a discount on the room. Everything was clean, cared for and well done. Nothing fancy or stuffy....just a nice room and location, all at a good price with interesting, humorous conversation. It was a pleasant surprise to receive all we could ask for in accommodations, for the evening. Even a little leeway on checkout times, when he learned we
