This Best Western is convenient to explore the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Cherokee, Maggie Valley, Waynesville, and other nearby areas. It has two stories and no elevator, so request a ground floor room if there is any mobility issue or heavy luggage. Rocking chairs are outside the door. One wing can accommodate pets. The hotel is a little dated but is clean and comfortable. The staff is very pleasant. Breakfast is included and was very good. Scrambled eggs, premade omelets, oatmeal, cereals, pancakes, yogurt, fruit, etc. were available. There is not very good sound insulation and walking in the room above was noisy and some street traffic was heard. This hotel was very reasonably priced.

The hotel was clean, quiet and comfortable with an extremely helpful and friendly staff. We did not take advantage of the breakfast but there were many options to choose from. We were close to everything, shopping, restaurants activities etc. It was about a 30 minute ride to Western Carolina University but was well worth the stay and the short travel

Making frequesnt visits to Western NC always stay at this location. Over the years we have been visiting Maggie Valley multiple times during each year. We have stayed with our accomodations and now have landed at BW as our first choice. Safety, cleaniness, friendliness of staff... It all adds up to a solid experience. Try it. You too will like it!

I had reserved a mountain view room several months before my trip and was not given the room type I had paid for. Was offered a different room again with no mountain view. When I requested housekeeping in my room, the soaps and shampoos were just tossed on the counter and the towels hung up were not clean.

Upon first entering our room, we noticed a musty smell. The room smelled of cigarette smoke and was very dated. We had issues with getting the water turned on in the shower. The instructions on the faucet knob was to pull. When we did as the instructions stated, the knob as well as the faucet spout pulled completely out of the shower surround. We did eventually get the water to turn on. The water was either scalding hot or lukewarm at best. The second night, we were unable to get the water to turn on. Out of fear of pulling it completely out or causing a leak (if there already was not one), we called the front desk and the lady came to our room to offer assistance. She did get the water on, which we were grateful for, and we let her know that we would would both shower, one immediately after the other in an attempt to avoid not being able to get the water to turn on again. I quickly showered and then my husband after, with his water getting cold half way through. Given our trip was in January, cold with snow on the ground, heat was needed. When set on 70 it was unbearably hot and stuffy in the room. When turned to 68-69, it was chilly.

I stayed in Maggie Valley in February for ski season and I found the property to be quiet, hospitable, clean, comfortable, and able to meet my needs. The hotel is 10 minutes from Cataloochee Ski Area. The staff is very polite and genuine and the breakfast was the highest level for what you see at Best Westerns. They even had omelets which I like and you don't see at every BW hotel. The hotel pays a premium for that luxury. I had no issues whatsoever and is conveniently located to Legends, known for having the best food and drinks, even later than other places in Maggie Valley. I'd stay here if I were coming back any time of year.

I admittedly do not tend to stay in motels for various reasons. However, this being a last minute trip, and there being very few hotels in the area, this was one of few with vacancies. After reading the reviews I had hope that all would be well….and it was!!! The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, hot breakfast served daily, and the staff is soooo nice!! The area is clean and feels safe.
A few things to know:
It’s a small (but beautiful) town so there are not a lot of fast food places nearby. There are a handful of restaurants but everything starts shutting down around 8. Fast food, grocery stores, drug stores, etc, are about 20 minutes away. There is a dollar general nearby.
Housekeeping and towels have to be requested when needed.
Laundry is on site. Upstairs to the left. Only one washing machine and and dryer, $1 each. They will give you change at the front desk.
There is no elevator but stairs are wide, not steep, and it’s only about 10-12 stairs.
Water can get really hot and it has great pressure. To start water, pull knob out with a little muscle.
Again, great motel! Would stay again!

It was weekend for the Hillbilly Jam at the festival grounds. We stayed there 2 nights this time. We had stayed in April of 2024 and they have pet friendly rooms on the back. The location is great and local things are mostly within walking distance but only a short drive to local eateries and shops.

I've stayed at BW in Maggie Valley several times over the years. It has previously provided a safe, clean, comfortable, and convenient location to stay while enjoying the mountains. The last two times I stayed there was mixed. Once I was traveling along and the room I was in was clean, everything worked nicely, the bed and pillows were super comfy. the last time I stayed I traveled with my pup and was placed in one of the 'pet friendly' rooms. Apparently these rooms are not given as much attention from maintenance and cleaning that others are. This room looked ok on the surface but there were issues with appliances, some bugs present and the floor was filthy.
People are charged extra for pet friendly rooms and this is fair; most pet owners don't mind a nominal fee. There is also an envelope in the room for tipping housekeeping staff. It's not reasonable to charge more, expect a tip and then give the room a lick and a promise instead of the attention it needs.
Please respect your customers by cleaning these rooms, tend the maintenance and keep the good reputation for Best Western this hotel has provided in the past.

My son and I made this trip to WNC for some winter Trout fishing. This property was in a great location to fish several different rivers. The fishing was fantastic and the hotel staff was very accommodating. Very centralized to fish most of the rivers locally
