Clean, Comfortable & Connected... Welcome to beautiful Maggie Valley and the newly renovated Cardinal Inn. Your hostesses, Paula and Charlee, are eager to make this your best trip ever. You are greeted at the front office and then shown to your newly up-dated room with pillow-top mattresses, HDTVs with DirecTV and HBO. Our bathrooms have been supplied with luscious cotton towels and new massage showerheads. Each room has AC/heat, a microwave, mini-refrigerator and blow dryer. We have king bed rooms, double queen bed rooms and efficiencies that feature a full kitchen. WiFi, a bag of popcorn and a couple of bottles of water are complimentary.

This is great little motel with super clean rooms. The staff was great with service and the communications before and after our stay. The bucket of ice before in the room before check-in was a nice touch. I will definitely stay here again. Thanks for a great experience.

My wife and I stayed one night at The Cardinal Inn while en route on a motorcycle trip through the Smokey Mountains, and it was fantastic. Our room was very clean, bright, and well decorated with a comfy bed, nice sheets, and good pillows. The room was nicely furnished as well. Each room had a table and a couple of chairs outside the door, and everything outside was clean and comfortable as well.
The only things that weren't perfect was that the bathroom door was a little bit hard to close in our room, and we had to run the hot water for a couple minutes initially to get the hot water to our room. Neither of these were big deals and I'm digging to find anything to even write about that wasn't perfect.
It's walking distance from at least 4 restaurants for meals, which was convenient if you want to have a drink or two and not drive back to the room.
Overall this would be my go-to if we stay in Maggie Valley again. Nice place!

I took my kids to Maggie Valley on a surprise pre-Christmas, 7 day ski trip. Staying in a hotel was not in my plan because I knew I wanted access to a washer & dryer and I planned to prepare all of our meals due to Covid & the cost of eating out 3 meals a day. I was looking at cabins at first until I stumbled upon the Cardinal Inn and what a boon that was! First of all, the inn is located literally 5 minutes from Cataloochee Ski Area and our room was spacious with 2 queen beds, a dining table and a full kitchen. It was so nice to have a full kitchen in which I could unload our cooler and all of our groceries. We were also able to bring our dog with us! Paula and Charlotte allowed us access to the laundry room whenever I needed it (3 kids = lots of laundry) and loaned me whatever pan or kitchen utensil may not have been stocked in the kitchen for me. The room was spotless and I could tell had been recently beautifully renovated. The staff was so nice! My kids have already requested a pre-christmas ski trip next year so if we make it back to Maggie Valley in Dec. 2021, The Cardinal Inn will be our lodging for sure!!!

We stayed at the Cardinal Inn after visiting family in Georgia for the holidays. Had planned to stay in Asheville, but pet friendly hotels there were not rated well in that city, so detoured a bit to Maggie Valley. This motel is older but very well kept and the personnel are amazing. The pet fee was very reasonable; lodgings were very clean, the furnishings were very nice, the towels very plush, and the bedding was very comfortable. Although there was no continental breakfast as in many chain hotels, there was a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker along with complimentary coffee, hot chocolate, and popcorn. The best part, however, was the southern hospitality. While in Maggie Valley we had a tire mishap and, not knowing the area, we had to depend on the motel personnel to help with area information. Not only did the front desk assist with information, but even offered to go pick up dinner and breakfast for us, if needed, since our car had to be towed. Although we did not need to order food, it was very heart-warming that our hostess was interested enough in our situation to check on us - definitely not something that would have happened in a chain hotel! We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others. Thanks, Cardinal Inn, for a memorable stay.

My husband and I always stay at the quaint MVC Inn when visiting Maggie Valley. This is a 5 -star gem because of the cleanliness and added comforts offered by owners Paula and Charlee (sisters). Firm beds, plush towels and pillows, microwave & fridge, plus coffee maker and popcorn snacks. The spacious courtyard for pets and fireplace add to the charm. Their friendly staff are there for you. Their mid- town location allows for walking to many restaurants and fairgrounds. I highly recommend this charming place.

We wanted a short trip with the dogs just for change of scenery. The Cardinal Inn provided a clean room, comfy beds, courteous service and amenities for the dogs. There was a water bowl, bags and receptacles for cleaning up after them and even flat sheets to lay across the beds to keep the bed spreads clean. I was so impressed! Well done Cardinal Inn. You know what good customer service feels like.

This place is wonderful! Very clean and comfortable beds. The owners take great pride and will bend over backwards to make your stay perfect. For a 3 night stay they already had more than enough Wolfgang packets of coffee, creamers, cups, bottled water....you just don't find the attention to detail at most hotels like here. Plenty of television channels. They had a bucket of ice in the frig for us...we did not need to get it ourselves. An outdoor sitting area with a fire pit and hammocks. The location is great in the middle of everything. I could go on and on how happy we are with our stay here. Highly recommend this motel.

This was one of the best vacations we have ever had. If you are looking for quiet and relaxation, The Cardinal Inn is for you. First off the owners and staff are some of the most friendly people we have ever encountered. Every need was met, and you can tell they take keeping their guests happy a top priority. I have never felt so welcome and relaxed. The rooms were very clean and tastefully decorated. Everything worked and was highly maintained. The views of the mountains from the porch rockers are beautiful and inspiring. They also have several hammocks for you to use. Lying in that hammock gazing up into the large Maple tree just made my anxieties melt away. The Cardinal Inn is one of a very few places I have wanted to stay longer. I did not want to leave. Excellent location and parking right at your door. Shops and restaurants are within walking distance. When we get to come back, the only place we will stay is the Cardinal Inn. Thank you for an amazing vacation. You renewed my soul.

Our stay at the Cardinal Inn was wonderful. The room was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable, the fixtures in the bath areas were clean and modern, and we especially enjoyed the comfortable lawn chairs in front of each room that provided a great place for our group to sit and relax at the end of each day. Paula and Charlotte, the owners, went out of their way to make us feel at home. We wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.

My husband and I spent the weekend in Maggie this weekend. We have heard good things about this place. Ultimately a clean room is my top concern and this room was definitely what we were looking for. Super clean had a microwave and mini fridge, along with a coffee pot. The owners were nice enough to leave a bag of popcorn and bottles of water. They even filled up our small soft cooler with ice for our day out on the parkway. My only complaint is our neighbors, which is why I still have a 5 star. It has nothing to do with the hotel grounds, but the room beside us, were loud early morning and late at night. They sat outside playing music that was inappropriate. We didn’t complain we just went inside and turned on the TV to cover it up. Will definitely stay here again! Oh and my husband fell in love with their towels 🤣💜
