My family only planned to stay 2 nights and wound up taking an extra day because we loved it so much! There is nothing and I mean nothing like going to sleep to the sounds of the creek running with the windows up. Theres a gameroom with activities such as pool and darts to keep the kiddos occupied till ya decide what your adventure will be for the day. We will be back for sure, great place for family!

I have no idea why this motel is given such good reviews, but what I experienced was far from what I read. I booked this motel for several reasons, with a lot of reliance on reviews and rating on Trip Advisor. But, to be brief, I will list the reasons for my review and not go into great detail because it is pretty self-explanatory. 1. Motel is old, dated, and in need of many upgrades. 2. Room door could use some much needed paint. 3. Room smelled "musty". Furniture must have been original for the most part. 4. Knob on AC/Heat unit was broken; wording was basically rubbed off and hard to read; had to turn switch on with fingers, which was difficult; smelled bad when it finally warmed up; apparently routine checks and maintenance is not a priority. 5. Beds have little to no foundation; mattresses low quality; compressed almost flat when I sat down on it. 6. Hand soap in restroom was tiny and old. Crumbled in hand when opening and taking out of wrapper. Due to all of the above, a tight budget, and the late hour of check in, we decided to turn around and travel back home instead of looking for another room that we couldn't afford in the first place. This room wasn't inexpensive, but it did seem reasonable based on the exuberant prices other hotels of the same type were asking. Didn't try to get a refund I was so angry and disappointed. We are not high falutin people or consider ourselves picky; don't think we are better than anyone else. All we want in a room is three things: a decent, safe, and comfortable place to stay. We had worked hard and saved for our fall foliage getaway weekend and love the Maggie Valley area. I don't feel any of our three requirements were met. Although it was brief, this was our first and last visit to the motel. Like I said, I wasn't expecting the Hilton, but I wasn't expecting what I got either.

We stayed this past weekend and we were VERY happy. It's a great mom and pop place and everything worked fine. The little creek behind it was nice, gurgling and our bed was comfy. Everything was SPOTLESS.

We stayed 5 nights at the River Pointe Lodge & couldn’t have picked a better place! The local couple that own the place are super nice & accomadating. We trailered our bikes & they had plenty parking for us. We were centrally located to some great rides! Plenty of local restaurants near & to hear the rushing water at night was a plus!

Very disappointing hotel ! Bad odor and felt unsafe ! Rude service and wouldn’t even consider a refund ! Sure it’s the policy but we left this hotel immediately after checking in and had to find another place to stay at a late hour and the owner didn’t care ! Thank goodness for another nicer hotel and a caring owner . No recommendations here
