This old mansion was recently re-opened after renovation. There are other room options but we stayed in the mansion. The building is a classic 100 year-old mansion with the beautiful style and trim inside and out. There are terrific lake views through old window panes, the library, deck and lawn. Grand old trees and beautiful landscaping abound. Staff was able, friendly and helpful. Beds are comfortable with quality bedding. The food at the restaurant and golf course was excellent. There are plenty of activities within walking distance. We rented a canoe, played golf and took the evening boat tour. Tennis, swimming, croquet and water sports are onsite options. We just ran out of time.
Incredible quaint Inn, wonderful service with a southern charm that is hard to beat. The views of the lake and the mountains are spectacular and the quiet serenity of the lodge make for a relaxing stay.
The Greystone is a lovely Inn in a gorgeous setting on Lake Toxaway. The new owners have done a really nice job on renovations & in getting the inn up & running again. They have a little ways to go to make it worthy of the big room prices, but I’m sure they’ll get there in time. It’s very nice, but there’s room for improvement in the details. We had a fun stay along with friends on this trip. We’ll definitely be back again.
Met friends for my spouses 70th birthday and what a selection! This is a sister property of an elegant old hotel in our town and are they ever doing it right. This was closed for some period of time and only opened in the last several months but what a place to stay. In all fairness, this elegant old beauty is still somewhat of a work in progress but our room was lovely, overlooking the lake, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was huge. The rooms are not inexpensive but worth it. Their restaurant is elegant and the food was superb. We were treated to a wonderful boat ride around the lake and Tony was a superb "tour guide." He related the history of the area and we found it quite interesting. We will return this fall.
We recently spent several days at this beautifully renovated hotel. The staff is super friendly and our room, Ford, was nicely appointed with a great California King feather bed!! The dining room has super views of the lake and our meals were just perfect. We will be coming back to the Greystone Inn with a number of our friends in the near future.
