I rated this a 4 or Very Good as there is certainly room for improvement. From a vacation perspective, I did expect a little more. But, first, let me just say - the resort is beautiful. For the most part, the grounds were in great shape, everyone's lot looked to be in good shape (those occupied). The people we encountered, visitors, owners and office personnel were all friendly and accommodating to a degree. We made our reservations in June for a mid October stay. A few days before traveling to the site, we called to ask questions about the grill and kitchen on the lot we reserved. We were told that the owners had sold the lot back in August and that we were being moved to a lot that did not have grills or a kitchen. We were told that management tried to reach us. We also learned management was sending emails to an inaccurate address - their fault. After a brief conversation, we were called back and told the new owners would allow us to continue to rent the spot. We again asked about the grill and kitchen. Management said - all is good. When we arrived, the lot was in good shape - not great. No chairs around the bar or table and the pavers needed a really good pressure washing. But, we were happy that the grill and kitchen area (sink, stove top, refrig) all worked. We did a bit of cleaning as the table tops, counter tops and such outside were extremely dirty. No problem, we always clean when we go places. All in all, our stay was fine and we enjoyed the areas of Highlands, Cashiers, Brevard and hiking trails in the area. The golf course at Mountain Falls was also nice and in good shape. We were notified while there that three residents had been diagnosed with COVID from a party that took place the week before. So, unfortunately there's was not a lot of get together - even at a distance. My final remark and this is not something that the resort has any control over - but the main road is extremely noisy and busy. We literally waited about 4 mins one day to even cross the road to the coffee shop. And, that noise impacts the peacefulness of the resort if you are vacationing and the lot is near the road. We want to return and will seek to find out what lots are up and out of noise reach! The only warning I will provide is if you are renting - find out if the lot is for sale. If it is, you may want to find another one as they don't protect you if the lot is sold and the new owners are not going to stay in the rental program. Not management's fault - just something we learned the hard way. Now we know and we hope to be back in the spring. Oh and the wifi is rather shotty. Need to bring your own hotspot.…
This is a fabulous motorcoach resort. Beautifully landscaped and perfectly maintained. We rented a Ridge site and have never had such a spectacular view. The money that has gone into this resort is mind boggling. Everyone we encountered was very friendly including the office staff who provided lots information on restaurants, sights and stores, etc. We found plenty of beautiful places to hike, dine and shop in the area. It was one of our best trips ever!
We actually visited for the first time in June of 2018 then again in October 2018. Planned a return in June of 2019 and ended up buying our own lot. We love the weather, the scenery and the feeling of being remote even though you are not (Sapphire/Cashiers is 20 minutes to the west and Brevard 25 minutes to the East). All I can say is being a rental guest was wonderful, being an owner is over the top! But, if you are a rental guest please do not be shy. Join in as most events are open to everyone and we love making new friends.
We are typically here in the fall where most stuff is already closed. The resort is typically pretty empty which we enjoy. Yes you have to drive to get food or shopping but you're in the mountains. We find the seclusion very enjoyable. The sites here are very pretty with nice stones, trees etc.
From the moment we arrived, until we had to leave we felt so special. The grounds are not just nice are spectacular. It is restricted to class A motor homes but that is really nice. This is the true meaning of glamping
