#5 of 6 hotels in Kure Beach
We are a small, family-owned and operated oceanside motel. (Not oceanfront). Just 100 feet from the beach and boardwalk in Kure Beach, NC, our rooms face parallel with the beach, so you must step out of your room for the ocean view. We have no "ocean view" rooms, though the public deck/porch on the ocean side of our building affords an excellent view of the beach, ocean, and magnificent sunrises!NO PETS : please don't ask if we're "pet friendly". We absolutely *love* pets (have some at home), but they are not allowed at our motel. It is really not a matter of "friendliness" :-)We have no designated "non-smoking" rooms. For those guests requesting non-smoking accommodations, in advance, we aggressively sanitize and deodorize our rooms with a *very* effective ozone generator. Our guests are nearly always *very* pleased with the results! We have a large grill available, a coin laundry, fish cleaning facility, and more than ample parking. There's even room for your boat, under 23'. With two "extra-long" double beds, all of our rooms can accommodate four guests rather comfortably. A small rollaway cot/bed is available for a fifth guest, but there can be no more than five people occupying a room, regardless of ages/sizes. We have excellent quality linens, flat screen TVs, and free WiFi! Outdoor jacuzzi! Plenty of free ice (can you believe that so many places *charge* you for ice?!), a convenience store just across the street with bait and tackle, beach supplies, etc. Yes, we *really* will inflate your water toys for you! They will rip you off and lie and cheat there way into your wallet WEEKS AFTER you have stayed and left (For over a week we stayed and already gave them about 2 grand). But no, i guess their greedy selves couldn’t get enough. So my girlfriend calls them to simply sort it out and this SICK OLD MAN who is unfortunately the OWNER hangs up on us after laughing about how he had stolen from us, so we call back. And he has the NERVE TO LIE and be so entirely unprofessional, i have never seen anything more unprofessional in my entire years of living. I have the whole conversation recorded and will be showing to everyone including a lawyer of how disgustingly rude this person was. Also the beds were hard as wood , we came there with a broken sink knob and yes they are accusing us of breaking it now (like I said SO professional) and left with everything perfect, not one missing item or speckle of dirt and now we are victims of an illegal hate crime.

You know, it is a shame that this is your choice of for response to having finally been held responsible for trying to stiff me on your room rental......and the many damages that you left me in your room. Though quite similar, it *is* much quieter than your repeated rantings to me on the phone, as you demanded an explanation for your charges, and then unleashed your tirades, totally drowning out my replies, each of the three times that I attempted. Trying to talk sense to an unstable person often proves to be.......senseless. I try to be compassionate when confronted by/with someone who's "issues" seem to make rational thought difficult. Still, there are "forums" such as this where *anyone* may rant as they please....with no accountability......so I will let this go, Taylor Cassada, of Gastonia, NC, and trust a more discerning public to see right through what you have concocted here. Though it is nearing the end of "National Mental Illness Awareness Week", perhaps there is still time....... :-)

The person who was answering the phone is so rude. I called and made a reservation and when I called back to cancel the reservation he just hung up on me. I called back to let him know how rude that was.. I often come to Kure beach but I know for sure never to come sleep at this motel. It’s dirty and rude customer service..

LOLOL....you crack me UP, *again*, dear phone challenged millennial..... :-) Most of us are quite familiar with people who are so intent upon "finding" offense in someone/something, that they totally miss their *own* ridiculous behavior...... When you first called to make your reservation, I had to stop you *4* times, as your speech was unintelligible. I repeatedly, calmly informed you that there must be a problem with your phone. You eventually discovered a setting or a "technique" that allowed me to finally stop saying, "What? I can't hear/understand you....", and we completed your reservation. I informed you, quite clearly, that because of the short time frame, you would not be able to cancel without forfeiting your deposit. When you called me the second time, to cancel, your speech continued in the same unintelligible manner, causing me to repeat my suggestions that there was a problem with your phone, no less than *3* more times! ......resulting in you exclaiming, "Oh my GAWWWWD, I've got "solid *bars*!" lolol.......At that point, I was not even going to *attempt* to explain how your "solid bars" had nothing to do with your speaker phone/microphone/voice settings that probably contributed to your unintelligible speech......heck, it could have been something as simple as speaking directly *into* your phone, as opposed to whatever else you were doing.... :-) I opted, instead, to calmly repeat to you that this "no notice" cancellation would result in you forfeiting your deposit. You said that you understood. (long silence.....) I said, "OK, I'll take care of the cancellation for you." (Long......LONG silence.....no response....).....so I hung up. You promptly called me back with a muffle-mouthed tirade....lolol.....I had to tell you 2 *more* times (that's 9+ times in 3 calls!) that I couldn't understand you....before I could hear you call me rude, and tell me that you wanted to know what would be done about your deposit. I told you that I had explained that to you TWICE, already....to which you responded, "Well, I'm going to leave a "bad review" for you!" I told you, "By all means.......and rest assured that I shall respond." I then asked, "Are we through, *now*?" (Silence.........so I hung up, chuckling...... ) So, here's your response.... :-) Maybe learn how to *speak* on that phone.......and check out some manners, while you're at it......... ;-)

There is no internet here. The manager, Mark, said that happens to everyone and he is not sure how to fix it. He suggested that I reboot my iphone but that did not work. Rebooting did not work for my wife's Samsung either. There were surprising, extra charges on my visa card that the owner, David, explained were for using the pool. The bank has encouraged me to dispute these unauthorized charges, but I think I'm done with all the negative, confederate flag, energy around this place.

Response from the owner 6 days ago How appropriate that the fellow who brought the "Hercules Horde" to our property, and got evicted, has followed through with his threat of bogus reviews. No internet here???? But I'm on it now, responding to *you*....and every day.... :-) Here, let me copy my response to your "crew", in case you missed it: Creylin Hercules a day ago on Google 1/5 Bad service!! Response from the owner a day ago lolol........These "Hercules" characters are a *hoot*! I was threatened with these sorts of "reviews" when I refused to refund their second night's stay, after having to EVICT them from my property, involving the police. Any roaches they might have encountered surely accompanied them from the campground where they'd stayed before invading my property. They sneaked additional (unregistered, ie: un-paid-for) people into their room, exceeding the maximum allowed occupancy. Similarly, they sneaked unauthorized people into our swimming facilities, despite signs prohibiting such behavior. They trashed the room, soaked the floors and beds in the room, strewing food, sand and gummy bears over the carpet. The final straw came at 5:00 pm on their second day, when they sneaked a dog into the room, despite signs and notices posted *everywhere*, prohibiting animals on the property and in the rooms......So, yes, they were kicked out! Trashy people, being.......trashy...... And though we frequently find personal belongings left behind, which we return/ship to our guests, the bloody, nasty shorts which we found stashed under one of our beds....went straight to the trash (we wore gloves! ;-) ). All in all, a nasty, trashy experience for us. "Bad service", INDEED!!!!! Fredy Hercules a day ago on Google 1/5 Bad service, there are cockroaches in the kitchen and in the room and the staff is very arrogant ..................................................................................................................................................................... I see that *you* are a property manager, of sorts, as well, Danny, so you might understand a bit about ill mannered, dishonest, "rules don't apply to *me*" tenants.......Let me just quote from *your* "What Makes Me Different" statement on your page: <*Raving reviews from landlords who have hired me and a few dings from disgruntled tenants that I have evicted to keep it real. > Just keepin' it (confederately) real, here, sir........... ;-) ........with a nod to your attempt at condescension.....Bless your heart. :-)

My husband and I have been going to Kure keys at least 2 to 4 times a year for the last 6-7 years. Frankly, we could stay anywhere we wanted to on the beach but we choose Kure Keys because of the management, the location, and the wonderful amenities that this little gem has. Nothing fancy but lots of character and huge pride of ownership by Dave. The beds are very comfortable the balcony is something that we cherish; the way Dave runs his property suits us just fine! No behaving like a low life allowed, imagine that?!?! Our room has never been dirty or even sandy, in fact I’ve recommended KK to friends and have brought family. Yes, it was build in the 60’s and who cares if the microwave is old?? It’s 1 minute to the beach, the pool and hot tub are incredible. So those of you that want to carry on like dirt bags PLEASE stay away and leave this little gem to the rest of us who LOVE it.

:-) Ahhhhhhhh, such wonderful folks! Y'know, we rather *like* the way you think! ;-) It is a *rare* "customer", who shows up soon after a hurricane, offering emotional support AND *real* help in recovering from the damages........and that's YOU! Kind of erases the "line" between customer and friend..... :-) You look after my place as if it were your own! I always SMILE when I hear that you're coming back....... :-) Thank you~~
