I travel for a living, and stay in a wide range of hotels, and I rarely give a 5 star rating. However, this hotel easily earned a 5 star rating from me.
The location is perfect: close enough to Nags Head, but far enough away...More

The hotel offered everything we needed to make our stay so much fun. The hotel staff was very helpful in making dinning suggestions. We ate and played our way across North Carolina. Had a great time -- will be back again!

This hotel has a great location in Kitty Hawk. It's right on the beach (there are dunes between the beach and hotel, and some stairs to get down to the beach) with a pier. There is not supposed to be public access to this beach...More
Nice sized rooms. Many with balcony. Nice beach and private pier. Great outdoor seating area for lunch and drinks. Nice pool area. Lots of free parking. Only option for breakfast was buffet. It had good options.

Our room at the Kitty Hawk Hilton was very clean when we arrived. I like to make my own bed and I prefer NOT to have maids in my room during my stay at a hotel. I did ask a maid in the hallway for extra towels one morning when we went out. When we returned to our room that afternoon, the towels were in a bag hanging on our door. One morning I asked the maids that were in the hallway NOT to clean in our room. She made me initial a paper to verify I did not want the room cleaned. I make my own bed at home and I clean my own home, so I do not mind doing the same when I’m staying a couple of days at a hotel.
