Ownership of this location and name have changed. The name is now Beachwoods, a Gold Key Resort. There is an extensive remodeling going on and the place is very disorganized, with building materials and machinery everywhere. Our condo had 3 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. However, the upstairs "bedroom" was really a loft with no door and no bathroom on that...

We've been owners at Barrier Island for a few years now. The last visit in June 2015 was very disappointing. We were not made aware of the construction until shortly before our stay. All the amenities were closed! We were given a first come first serve pass to the YMCA...which was actually the highlight to our trip. Our units did...

Stay here only if your idea of a great time is having a host comparable to Satan. There is practically no staff so don't plan on needing anything--including directions to get to the beach. The security guard checked us in to our room because the front desk staff had gone home (we arrived at 4:55pm by the way-not really late...

We have been owners here for over 15 years. This is the first time we have been completely disappointed. We understand they are under construction making upgrades and redoing all the units. We were told that the units were 90% complete but were put into a terrible unit! Not one picture or decoration in the whole unit, outside areas were...

Look very relaxing. Lots of trees very private feeling. Lovely pool area. Beach a long walk or a 4 min car ride. Relaxing few days. Stores are close including a Walmart Food Lion etc. Lots of restaurants to choose from too.

We were very nervous about our stay after reading all the reviews about it being under construction. We were pleasantly surprised to find the brand new outdoor pool had just been opened. We even were able to grill pool side several times. The tennis courts and volleyball area were also open. We had a wonderful time. We loved the easy...

Too many things went wrong during out vacation here. Yes we knew there were doing renovations but the lack of care or concern is unacceptable. Check-in is at 3 and when we got there they told us our rooms wouldn't be ready for a couple hours. Thank you for the heads up. We could use the pool but we could...

We have been owners at Barrier Island Station (now Beachwoods) for the past five years. We stayed this year the week of July 11-July 18, 2015. We were notified several times by newsletter and email that the resort was under major renovations. We were thankful by the time we arrived, the outdoor pool area was finished. We love the new...

I went on a trip here and just came back and I can't say I would recommend this place to anyone unless they like feeling cheated by an only money drivin business, instead of quality living and quest happiness. The facility was under construction and this was not told months ago when it was booked. We were told only the...

Just returned on June 27. I was aware that the amenities were closed due to the buy out and renovations. The resort is going to be beautiful when it is finished. The location was great, a wooded area away from the hustle-bustle but within 5 minutes of shopping. The beach was about a 10 minute drive, but very convenient with...

“Be sure to get an upstairs unit -- not much soundproofing when you have upstairs neighbors!”

“You will have no idea what facilities are available until you arrive and look for them. If you wish for a peaceful vacation with your family this is not the place to be. When not sightseeing off the resort property, you can stay in your room, not facilities on the property for you and your kids to use. Use your precious vacation time elsewhere.”
