We stayed here recently and we were quite pleased. The room was nice and well kept. We enjoyed being right off the beach and if you go during warm weather there are showers behind the sand dunes to rinse off before going inside. There is also a gazebo. We enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub. The breakfast is heavy... More

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

We travel often to the Outer Banks, but had not stayed at Shutters. We really enjoyed our weekend. We upgraded to the ocean view room and it was totally worth it!! We got to enjoy a beautiful sunrise right from our balcony, a beautiful rainbow over the ocean in the afternoon, and loved relaxing with drinks in the chairs in... More

My husband and I make an annual trip to the Outer Banks on Thanksgiving Weekend, to hit up the Weeping Radish and get their Christmas Bier. We make a little jaunt out of it and spend the night and we stay at the Shutters. There is never any question. Our room is always spacious, convenient to places we want to... More

Stayed at this hotel a couple nights ago. Got a parking lot view even though we asked for a quieter room. and the put someone in the room right next to us when most of the hotel was empty. the guy listened to tv (loudly) til about 11. Plus I was healing some guys conversing loudly outside our room in... More

We stayed for the OBX race weekend (not room 221) as it was our first time in OBX. It was a nice little hotel, the front desk staff was very accommodating to runner's schedule. My family enjoyed the easy access to the beach and the indoor pool. The only downside, the breakfast could have been better supplied. I'm sure part... More

We've been fortunate to visit the OBX on a number occasions over the last few years. For our latest visit we decided not to hire a home, or stay in a 'chain' hotel. Shutters on the Banks had reasonable reviews so, despite the slightly higher than average cost at this time of the year, we opted for a 2 night... More

We were first given a room in the main bldg and walked in to a horrible odor. Even my husband who NEVER complains about anything said there was no way he could stay there. When I went to the front desk the clerk did not want to move us even though the hotel was near empty. Instead, she said she... More

I'm so sorry about your experience at our property, we very rarely have rooms with such bad odors as you describe, but with that being said it is the beach and lots of damp towels and bathing suits can be thrown around the rooms. I completely understand your concern about the layout of the tower rooms/restrooms, but am excited to... More

A very nice hotel located in a great place on the beach. Staff are friendly and rooms are nicely appointed. The location is great, right on the beach, and close to many nearby restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. I would recommend for couples or families. I stayed just outside of the high season, so the hotel was reasonably priced.

Only spent one night here. There were cockroaches every where outside (we arrived when it was dark and didn't notice them until we went out a bit later). One got in our room, it was huge and took me ages chasing it around to catch it. The breakfast was OK although they had minimal seating in the breakfast area.
