Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I hate doing bad reviews, this wasn’t a nice hotel. It has a great pool, but the whole place is old. And poorly kept. It has carpets, and it’s not as clean as we would like it. The carpets and the room. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a dump. But it’s not great.

Hotel's Favourite
The Cascades lodge was very good some of the rooms are a little dated. However they are very clean and well maintained. They have a huge swimming with a 100 foot circular slide, also a large "T" shape hot tub . There also have a nice lobby with a fire place. Next to the front desk is a stone pond with a fountain. The facility Is good size with over a hundred rooms available. There is plenty for parking available.

Service clerk was rude. And made us park a mile away with a small child 'due to construction' and there was no construction in the parking lot. Check in at 4...didn't call us until 445pm. Do better for paying working people on vacation.

We did not enjoy our stay. Rooms need a lot of repair. Staff not very friendly. We enjoyed pool with slide for our grand child. Breakfast was a bag. We had super loud air conditioner and we had spiders. But we changed rooms.

This hotel is disgusting. Our comforter was dirty, moldy shower curtain. Dirty sheets stuffed in drawers from a previous guest. Staff is rude and beyond slow to help with any needs you have.I begged for towels so my family and I could shower and they simply didn’t care until I said I would come around the counter and get them myself. We will never come back. And we will advise everyone not to as well.

The room was pretty dirty, the sheets were dirty, The bathtub was clean but there was black mold or mildew on the shower ceiling. My last night here my wife and I went to get in the hot tub and the pump to blow air is not working. The girl at the desk has no clue what to do to make it work and will not call the man to come fix it because he is at home, they don’t keep anybody here that knows what to do but he (supposedly)will fix it tomorrow. Which is after I’m going home. After thinking about it a minute I don’t even think it was working when we got here two days ago. This is unacceptable that this is an Ascend collection Hotel.. I understand they’re short staffed but that doesn’t mean you can let your rooms get filthy and dirty and not clean them. Just because you are not renting them out doesn’t mean you shouldn’t make sure they’re clean first before you do decide to rent them out again. You should also should have enough common sense that when sheets start tearing because of over bleaching and constant washing, to the pointed they become threadbare and rip easily when re-tucking in them in on the bed, it’s time to get rid of them. I will come back one more time after their renovations are complete in January or February of next year and if this condition hasn’t changed much from what it is now I will never be back. The irony in all this is we stayed here a few months ago and I put painters tape at the side of the wall where the curtain meets the door and sealed it good because there’s a big gap in it. Walking down the hallway to go to the pool just now I noticed the tape is still on a small spot of the window that I forgot to get off of it. So how good do they really clean?

This was not a good experience. 1) they wouldn’t hold our luggage until checkin- said it would be in an unguarded area 2() ‘Debbie’ gave us a higher rate than we were quoted on Expedia and then said we could check in but not be given a receipt, a key, a confirming code or any record 3) check in is penuriously at 4 pm 5) room has a window onto a hallway with stained carpet without fresh air or access to the daylight or sunshine 4) ugly and looks like a Mongolian All you can eat building

having seen the pics online, I thought, "Wow! A beautiful mountain resort! I'll try it!" Bad decision. I walked into the lobby and smelled the strong stench of CHLORINE. Not a good welcome. The person at the reception desk was leaning against the wall in a half-awake state and didn't budge until I got to the desk. His energy level was not contagious nor welcoming. I walked UP THE STAIRS with no elevator (which you do not find out until you've made the reservation) to the first room. I walked in and backed out. It stunk like stale mops and rags, old cleaning water, and moldy/mildewy presence. Yuck. I asked at the desk for a room that didn't stink. I went to the second room and the air conditioning was so LOUD that I knew I wouldn't sleep. The carpeting on the outside hallway floors was filthy looking. The room carpet was no better. If the rooms were that smelly and noisy, could the beds be comfortable or even clean. I wasn't convinced. I cancelled my reservation and left. I had travelled for 11 hours that day. Thank God the hotel next to them bailed me out and had a lovely room for me. I was most grateful. DO NOT STAY AT THIS "resort". The pictures are not a true representation of what you will find when you walk through the door.

I am very puzzled by the popularity of this resort. The photos online do not do it justice! The rooms are old and in bad need of updating. The bed was so horrible, it was like sleeping on a bale of hay. Carpet was old & room had a musty smell. The shower was nice that’s the only good thing I can say.
