My husband booked this inn for our 1st anniversary. It was simply lovely. Quite unexpected considering the surrounding area. I'm not sure that we took the recommended route (good ole GPS) because we traveled for a quite a distance on an almost-gravel road along the muddy riverbank with many a rundown trailer. Then all of sudden the landscape changed and... More

From the moment you arrive, you are treated as though you are already a "regular" (and there are plenty of those, for good reason) and welcomed. When we arrived at the Chicken House, it more than exceeded expectations. The pictures do NOT do it justice, everything was absolutely stunning. The tub was larger than expected, and in a perfect location.... More

This in not our first visit to the inn but one of the best. Gayle introduced us to friends who live nearby with the same names as ours! Wonderful meal, great stories, perfect evening and quiet restful sleep. We haven't stayed at an inn with a better breakfast than River House's plate. Thank you Gayle.

This was our second trip here. Many of the rooms are old farm out building that have been converted into rooms for two. All of these buildings are within walking distance of the main house, where a delicious breakfast was served. There is also a new Wee Cabin, which is away from everything else, on top of the hill, which... More

After 8 years of coming to the Riverhouse Gayle never quits surprising us with her Magic touch. The Sunday Salon was amazing with Emile playing the Piano! The dinner was fabolous; it was like being in a 5 star dining adventure but with the magic of Emile playing! The service was so silent that your every wish was at your... More

OMG...The River House offers a different menu every day. Our dinner was FABULOUS! For an appetizer my husband had the Crab cake and I had the Butternut Squash soup which we shared with each other...(drool here). For the main course he had the Filet Mignon (rare) and I had the Grilled Salmon, both perfectly seasoned and cooked (excellent Chef). We... More

Our daughter gifted us a weekend at this inn. If you want a "take me away" weekend, this is it. What I mean is when you live in a city or you are down at the beach, this is just so different from the routine. No traffic. Winding roads with trees and birds and cattle and the meandering of the... If you wish to relax and enjoy the serenity of this area, this is the perfect place to stay. A vibrant innkeeper and her staff are wonderful hosts. I can say their breakfast is really excellent with a variety of items to choose from. Our accommodations, The Carriage House, was clean, neat and most enjoyable. With its' jacuzzi, 2 bathrooms,...
