This was my first visit to The Sanderling property however I’ve been vacationing in OBX for over 30 years. I stayed here for four nights with another friend and her three teenage daughters. My friend had booked a suite and asked for the one suite they have that is all on one level. When we checked in they only had...

We do regret that we did not meet all your expectations but glad to hear that many of the amenities were enjoyed. We have gone back and reviewed the recorded reservation and additional calls prior to arrival where the loft suite was explained in detail and other options were given but would require a room move. Indeed during the entire...

A wonderful experience for our family of 6! We thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay at The Sanderling. We stayed in the North Building by the family pool and greatly enjoyed easy access to the pool and hot tub area, as well as the beach. The beach was extremely private and beautiful. We enjoyed our meals at The Life Station...

Last minute vacation to OBX - stayed 4 nights at the Sanderling. Loved it despite the rainy weather. Staff is impeccable - most notably Nancy at front desk and Shawn at Blonde Onyx Bar. Room was very comfortable and I loved the improvements to the Beach House (main hotel), esp. adult salt water pool and jacuzzi. Enjoyed the spa but...

So glad you took a few days for R & R and yes despite the rain at the beach that is possible. We appreciate your feedback on the team members (and we will be sure to share) and on the spa. We can't wait to welcome you back next year (with family in tow)

When the only thing you can think of to complain about the hotel is that the numbers on the bedside alarm clock were too bright, you know it's been a great trip. The room was beautiful, spacious and relaxing with a perfect, private deck. We stayed in the North Building by the family pool. I thought that would be loud,...

Thank you for your review and we can definitely figure out how to make that alarm clock not so bright (after all you are on vacation and don't need it). You are correct we were sold out during your visit but the resort and all the amenities lends itself to making it feel uncrowded. We have shared your comments with...

This is such a great place to stay if you just want to enjoy the beach and resort and have everything one needs at their fingertips. Friendly and prompt service from the staff, several options for onsite meals and snacks and more. While is not cheap I always feel like I received my moneys worth upon departure.

my daughter and I have been to the Outer Banks before - and yes, we have traveled some very nice places in the US, Europe, Asia and Africa - but the Sanderling ranges among the top 3 places I've stayed so far! It's comfy and laid back (live music around at a campfire), tastefully furnished, gets the beach feeling, is...

What a huge compliment and we really appreciate you sharing! We will also share with our team. We are glad you returned to the OBX and hope future trips include a stay with us (and some of the homemade granola).

This is the second year we came to the OBX on Thursday evening to beat the Saturday madness. If you can spare the money, the Sanderling is a good choice: it's north of Duck, which means Saturday we're heading against the traffic to get to Kitty Hawk; there are 3 restaurants on the property; and the spa offers great massages...

You have definitely learned a good work around the peak season Saturday traffic. We appreciate you enjoying those pre- days with us and glad you found them relaxing (well maybe with a few extra squeals). Currently, we do have oceanside rooms in both the South and North Buildings and do our best to accommodate specific building requests.

We loved our stay at the Sanderling. The hotel was lovely, welcoming and stylish and our room (ocean suite) perfect with a mezzanine bedroom/bathroom and sofa bed for children.
