Pros: We were able to get a last minute room (university open house weekend) after our Airbnb fell through. Rate was reasonable, parking right out front of the room, very quiet area, microwave and mini fridge in room. Right across the street from the university, but back in the woods. Cons: Tub had flaking paint in the bottom of it, the toilet seat was stained and discolored, and the towels were super thin. The beds had white down comforters on them, sadly they were both stained with yellow urine looking stains and cigarette burns. The sheets are so rough and starchy it felt like sleeping under sandpaper. We ended up going to Walmart, purchasing blankets, and sleeping on top of the comforters after flipping them. There is 1 outlet next to 1 of the 2 beds, but anything you plug in just falls right back out of the outlet. We had to unplug the alarm clock to plug in a charger. The a.c. unit was what I'd consider broken. The temperature adjustment knob was gone, so you could turn the heat and a.c. on, but not adjust it at all. The windows wouldn't open so we couldn't get a breeze in there either. If you need ice you have to ask the front desk. Upon checkout no one was at the desk, so I rang the bell and waited. And waited. And waited. Finally just left my room key with a note that said checking out.

I’ve never had such a bad and scary experience that I didn’t stay in a room and booked another hotel minutes after seeing the room. But that’s EXACTLY what we had to do after taking one look at the room. The bedding (which was supposed to be white) was dingy and stained yellow...with other unidentifiable stains as well. The room was drenched in some sort of perfume which I can only conclude was supposed to cover up the smell of something worse...although I can’t see how. Now, hours later and sitting in my Hilton room..I’m still getting the heaves thinking of that place. DONT STAY HERE!

We stayed here for 2 nights while attending a family reunion. Seems as if service has gone down somewhat from when we stayed here the year before. The ice machine was broken last year and is still not working this year. Lady at front desk said if we needed ice to bring our ice bucket and she would fill from office machine; however, there was no ice bucket in our room. There was a small coffee machine in the room, but there were no cups or packets of coffee when we checked in. There was no microwave, although it was listed on the confirmation. Left early the next morning for reunion and returned later that evening. Room had not been serviced, no fresh towels (only had 1 towel and washcloth each), beds not made; however, 1 trash can had been emptied and there was cups and coffee for the coffeemaker. Carpet needed cleaning as my white lounging socks were filthy when we left. Didn't feel we got much of a bargain for $100 per night room. Good water pressure in the shower and air conditioner worked o.k. Both nights were quite with no outside noise. Would probably not stay here again.

I was so excited about staying here. This little no frills hotel is nestled in the mountains. The view--beautiful! The comforters, some of the softest I've ever slept on. Nice and quite. I was OK with the broken ice machine. I was fine with the tiny thin towels. What really crushed me was on the day I went to check out, and check out was basically the day manager telling me, "Leave the keys in your room and leave the door wide open." Not, "Hope you enjoyed your stay, ...............anything." I went to my car and was devastated to see that someone had hit it! I quickly found the manager and asked her if there were security cameras in the parking lot. No cameras. No offer to help. Nothing to comfort me. The money I "saved" staying here is shot out the window, because I now have to have body work done. I will spend more next time and stay at a safer place. Very bummed out.

I want to start off with a positive comment. The staff was extremely friendly. They made us feel welcomed and were extremely helpful during our entire stay. It is clear that they care about the property and they did everything they could to make us feel at home. It is clear they are still trying to renovate. I can see this being a really nice hotel if they can get all of the work completed. The biggest challenge with this location is with them serving as an extended stay while also trying to host college families and vacationers. In my opinion, the two groups do not mix very well. Especially when you have the loud music and the kind of foot traffic that comes out in the evenings it tends to intimidate some families. Personally I am okay with this hotel, but not everyone that I was traveling with would say the same thing. If you go in open minded you will find this hotel a decent place to stay while in town.
