My husband and I have stayed here a few times and are already booked for October for my birthday. I can't wait, this particular hotel is a main reason! It's tranquil sitting on the balcony. I would like to say this to the potential new visitors, the 2 negative reviews are completely wrong! There is no noise from the road,...

Nice clean updated room right on the Oconaluftee River in Cherokee, NC. You can feed the duck right of your private balcony. Room rates very reasonable. Felt very safe. Within walking distance to shops and restaurants . Minutes away from the Great Smokey Mountain National Park entrance. When we go back for vacation we will definitely stay here!

Very small place but very nice. I would stay here again and again. The staff are so helpful and make you feel so welcome. Rooms are not huge but who needs it. Had everything we needed and so clean. Loved the balcony.

We stopped by chance in passing a couple of years ago and remembered our first floor room so well. This time our room was on second floor. We prefer first floor. More of a feel of being "on the river." However, I would take any room available just to stay there next time in the area. They were kind enough...

Adorable and helpful desk clerk. Clean rooms, recently decorated. Lovely views of the river. Very friendly and honest (friend left necklace and they kept it for her) I'm a smoker and no smoking on the balcony was a nuisance but hey ho - all considered it was wonderful. I will return! Thank you

After a day out on the trail I came back to River's Edge Motel to find all my belongings removed from my room and tossed on a gravel floor garage (door was wide open as well). River's Edge Motel overbooked and needed rooms when I came back another guest was already in my room. Dave the owner is a wolf...

So sorry to hear about your horrible stay but I would like to inform you that you have written a review for the wrong hotel. The owner of this River's Edge is not Dave nor is it a man.

The staff were incredibly nice, the room was large, clean & comfortable and the balcony overlooking the river was wonderful. The beds were comfortable with nice linens . I have paid a lot more for places not nearly as nice. it is obvious that the staff really care about keeping this place really nice. I forgot my phone charger and...

The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and enjoyed the balcony looking down at the river. The front desk person -- Patty was very nice and very helpful. The cleaning people were very friendly and efficient. There is a lot of traffic during the day including loud motorcycles, so would recommend the second floor. It was fairly quiet at...

My daughter and I stayed there for two nights. Very clean, and reasonably priced. Stay on the second floor. Even though the motel is on the main drag, the road noise was quiet. Not a lot traffic at night. We used this hotel as a base camp for visiting the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and surrounding areas.
