What a delightful surprise! Must nicer than the website depicts...this 32,000 sq. foot mansion with high ceilings, sparkling chandeliers, and tall casement windows sits on a 5 acre well maintained garden. We were very pleased with our second floor room with the adjoining screened in porch. Lovely, lovely, lovely!!!

We attended a wedding luncheon, cocktails and cake cutting. The staff was excellent! The only thing that could have been improved upon was the parking...it was very tight and no valet was available. There were three events going on and it was mid-day Saturday, but valet would have made this a perfect venue.

My wife set this up I normally don't do bed and breakfast. This should be everyone's exception Spring for the better rooms. The king mastersuite was very impressive.we had a screened in 2nd floor patio. Enjoyed nice walk through the beautiful neighborhood.

This place is amazing! I checked in and when I opened the door of my room the lights were on and the radio was playing. So welcoming! The employees were super nice and helpful. There is a pictorial history of the mansion on the 2nd floor. They don't have refrigerators or coffee makers in the rooms, but coffee and tea...

This has got to be the best hotel I've ever stayed in? We were in town for one night to see my sister in a play nearby. I loved this beautiful hotel! First of all, in terms of looks, it would be difficult to find a prettier hotel in any way - the outside, inside, lobby, rooms, and gardens are...

Very busy time of year and they were nearly fully booked when I tried to locate a room. Found a small queen room which was impeccably clean and attractive. The grounds were well maintained and plenty of places to stroll quietly. Our stay was a quick overnight on our way home from a wedding. Breakfast buffet was average. Many restaurants...

While the Duke mansion is impressive enough, the surrounding gardens make the visit worthwhile. Even in December roses, anemones and camelias (and more) do credit to the house & garden staff. On the accommodation front, we had a large and comfortable room -- a bit sparsely furnished (another chair would have been nice, for two people). Breakfast was admirable --...

we spent 4 nights at Duke mansion. The property is lovely, amidst tall majestic trees that are so abundant in Charlotte. Our room was spacious and comfortable and so meticulously clean, one of the cleanest hotel rooms and bathrooms I have stayed at. Most of the profits are spent in restoring the mansion, with its 20 sleeping rooms and large...

This is a must for a visit to Charlotte. We usually stay at a Marriott property, but we treated ourselves to a stay at the Duke Mansion on a recent trip. So glad we did! This historic property is simply beautiful and restored to its original grander. It's like something out of The Great Gatsby. The mansion and grounds are...

Hurricane Matthew changed our travel plans and we needed to stay one night and I found this last minute and we were not sure what to expect. What a pleasant surprise! We arrived at 4pm and upon being told we would be on the road the next morning by 6.30 because of the time difference, they offered breakfast which was...
