Detailed Reviews
Ok so first is the area. Though that’s my fault I guess I didn’t research it better. 2 there was feces in the toilet when I checked in, and the person who used the restroom left there used toilet paper in the trashcan. The rooms were dingy, didn’t appear to be vacuumed the decor was worn and outdated. No remote and the cable was sketchy. Didn’t even bother trying the WiFi. I had a hard time getting comfortable because of the thought that my room was dirty. The appliances were very dated they really need to be updated. The breakfast though I didn’t eat anything other than the coffee looked presentable I would not stay again

This motel was one of my only options as it was right off of the highway and allowed dogs. This was the week of the monster Nov rain storm that hit the east coast and I was exhausted from driving slow in the rain. It was late and not being a NC native, I had no idea that I wasn't in the most favorable part of town. Check in was smooth, though the front desk guys were not very friendly, but just doing their job. I noticed the security guard watching tv....and was alarmed just to see a guy in an orange vest that said "security".
Oddly, the room was nicer than I was expecting and the bed was decent too. I wasn't expecting this as I was jaded by my earlier experience at a filthy Quality Inn in TN. After seeing some of the interesting people hanging around the neighboring rooms and driving in and out, I decided to empty my car completely. I know, I sound like a snob don't I....well I checked out the crime blotter for the area on my phone and read that there had been a robbery in the neighboring parking lot which resulted in a shooting, a few days earlier. So I made sure the door was locked. Luckily it was pouring, and I think this disabled some of the regular activity that happens at this motel at night. The TV kept timing out every hour, but other than that the room was decent for a motel.
In the morning as I was leaving, I was trying to pack up my car while holding my dog's leash. I put him in the front seat with the door cracked, and proceeded to try and shove my guitar back in my trunk. I was having some issues fitting it back in despite it fitting fine the day before. In my frustration, I didn't notice the 2 meth-head looking guys walking towards me, babbling fastly about what kind of guitar I had, did I need help, "Let me see it", and about ready to grab it, as my new rescued swamp dog knocked the front door open with his nose and barked like a crazy dog at them. They walked off pretty fast as their toothless hobo friends looked down from the balcony. If it had not been for my dog, I would have knocked the guy in the mouth with the guitar case.
I had also read that a few weeks earlier, up the street, a pregnant teenager was shot while sitting at a bus stop and died. I didn't realize that Charlotte was scarier than where I'm from...D.C.....and I'll never go back.
If you ever get off at the Sugar Creek Exit, it better be just to go through the "Cook Out" drive through, and nothing more.

I will start off with the one good thing which was the mattress. It was very comfortable and I did sleep very well. Unfortunately in the parking lot there was a pick up truck with a flat tire, it appeared to of been there for a while. There were people hanging out in the parking lot that we’re not staying there. The ice machine on the lower level was absolutely filthy. Also, the breakfast left something to be desired. I definitely would not stay there again I would not recommend it to anyone.

Whatever you do PLEASE do not stay at this hotel. There are a host of other establishment on the same road that are a lot more sanitary. At around 7:30am I was awaken to the sound a a RAT chewing on a box I had left on the bed stand. The rodent was literally less than 2 feet from my head as I slept. I jumped up, he ran off and then I noticed rat dropping ALL OVER the bed stand. I alerted the front desk staff, cancelled the second night of my stay and checked into another room to at least take a shower and get dressed. As I get out of the shower a housekeeper walks in on me. She doesn't knock, doesn't call to see if anyone was in there, she just walks right in. As someone who has worked at a hotel, I know that in most places storming into a guest room without knocking and not even apologizing is enough to get you fired. When I went back down to the front desk to speak with the front desk manager, they acted as if I had done something wrong. The housekeeping manager was in the office at the time and was extremely rude and both the front desk manager and the General Manager were unwilling to at least give me a discount. I was willing to overlook the shabby outside and even the filthiness inside the room. When you're lookin for a place to lay your head for the night you can overlook a lot but a Rat eating and relieving himself next to you as you sleep is unacceptable. If you don't have a lot of money and you need a descent place to stay in the area, just go to Microtel.

I came to visit the Motor Speedway with my friends and this place was very affordable with great service. The location was perfect, the rooms were very clean and overall, it's a grey value for any college student going around town. The complimentary breakfast was alright and everything was worth it.

The worst thing about staying in our "non-smoking" room was the overwhelming stench of cigarette smoke. It smelled like someone was in the room smoking. I called to ask for an actual non-smoking room and was told to close the door to the powder room and that we'd be fine. The room did not look like it was cleaned (water rings on furniture and dust/cobwebs everywhere). There was even some hair stuck on the headboard. I actually felt sick to my stomach being in this room. Sign in lobby says "No Visitors In Rooms After 9:00pm" so I'm guessing there has been some trouble with prostitution. Our taxi driver advised us to go in the room and not come back out during the night. There appeared to be a significant blood stain on the mattress. All of the drawers were glued shut. Oh, and the pool was GREEN. The whole experience was SO GROSS.

Avoid this Days Inn. Didn't feel save here. I opened door to room and was assaulted with the smell old musty hotels smell. With underlining crack cocaine odor.. TV channels are limited and HBO channels are fuzzy like they've been pirated

Travelled all day and this was only an overnight stop or I never would have stayed. Restaurant closed. Staff obviously speaking about us in their native language. Appeared to be bad part of town...strange people "hanging" around parking lot, I believe they were homeless. A 2-inch roach greeted us at our door, but it was the only one we saw. Room was OK and interesting...back to the 15 minute sign in the lobby...purple walls, 70s style gold sofa, similar bed spread that never touched my skin. English speaking person at check-out was very friendly.

Our non-smoking room with a non-smoking placard on the door reeked of cigarette smoke and had an ashtray on the desk. The mattress was a little smaller than the boxsprings, and the exposed top edge of the boxsprings was stained, filthy, and ripped open! The continental breakfast was advertised to include waffles, but there were no waffles or waffle maker to be found. VERY disappointing stay. When we checked out and were asked how everything was, I replied "dirty." The desk clerk just smiled and nodded as if I had told him everything was wonderful.
