I have camp at this campground 3 times in the past 20 years. The owners live on the property. The restrooms are clean and there are two bathhouses. The campground is near Brevard, NC; DuPont State Park and the Pisgah National Forest. If you like to hike or if you like to see waterfalls this is the place to go....

My wife and I have been camping at Black Forest Family Campground since 2011 and keep coming back. A short one-hour drive from our home in Asheville, the convenience is very nice, but the friendly folks who run the campground -- all an extended family -- and the beautiful setting in the forests of Transylvania Co. make every visit a...

We planned a group visit here and absolutely loved this campground! The worker was friendly and the sites were nice. Lots of bees in areas but overall nice and clean. The tent cabins were nice and clean! The only thing this campground lacks is a stream or lake. Other than that the location was perfect for what we wanted to...

Was directed to Black Forest by another campground that was not acceptable. Glad we went here, was a much better place. Staff and ownership very friendly, courteous, and helpful. Very cozy, spacious camp sites. Have Direct TV hook ups so bring your receiver. Have sites that are also satellite TV friendly. WiFi works very well at site. Good bathroom, shower...

The driveway to the campground is gravel, steep, and curvy would be difficult to get to in large RV, or Travel Trailer. We rented a cabin which is very clean with synthetic covered mattresses, you have to bring your linens and cooler for food. A fire ring is outside with a picnic table. It had a nice porch if you...

We love Brevard. It's one of favorite places to visit and this campground just adds to the experience. The owners/staff is very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The campground itself it fantastic with plenty to do including a heated pool, which feels nice after spending most of the day in the frigid waters exploring the waterfalls and natural swimming holes. The...

My husband and I recently moved to Brevard and are still exploring the area. We love camping, so we came to Black Forest for a couple of days. Nope, people are right, they don't allow non-registered guests to 'ride around' inside the campground. This place is literally cut in the side of the mountain, with switchback roads and a couple...

We arrived early to the area to mountain bike at Dupont. Our friends arrived in RV the night before. We had no intention of asking for an early checkin but simply wanted to run to his RV to put our biking clothes on and rush to trails before storms came in. Probably would've taken us 5-10 minutes. No go! We...

My family and I have been coming here for years. I have noticed that every season the cost is higher and the service is poor. The staff is very cynical and charge you for everything. Camping is about enjoying the wilderness not having to deal with Drama. I wish there were other options. I would plan early and stay at...

the owner would not let me go into the park even though I had a reservation. they have a cord that block the road and you have to get out to remove it, (no lock) duh. I think the gate should be left open during the daylight hours. The park was clean including the water in the pool, but part...
