Needing a change of scenery, me and my husband booked a room at the Dry Dock. Wow was I surprised when we opened the door. It was our first time staying here and the lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful. We stayed on the 2nd floor and had one bed. We were worried that the carpet might smell musty but to our surprise the room had hard wood floors, and yes they did squeak. The color was very beach like and cheery. We had everything we needed and very much enjoyed our stay. We never heard any noise any where around us while we were there. We were right in the middle of the town and could walk everywhere we wanted to go. Will surely return!

I used this recently as it was high season still and the other options that were nicer were either full or very $$. I was not staying for the beach but for other reasons. Pros: 2 short blocks to walk to beach, close to other items to walk, quiet, accommodating for late check in, some rooms have kitchens (mine did not), clean Cons: Old rooms, bad smell in my room (most likely from being smoked in and trying to clean out the smell but it wasn't pleasant) not a safe lock on door and windows that did not lock, AC was old window unit loud and not very efficient. Overall, for the price and expectations the place was clean enough and good enough for my needs. I suspect my room was a very old room and might have been carved out of another space. The worst was the old motel old smoked in room smell but I suppose I expect that in downmarket type motel. The owners were accommodating for late check in but it wasn't the most secure process (they said they would leave the key in the room with door unlocked lucky I arrived in time to not need this). I would be more concerned with the fact the windows on the bottom floor did not lock and the deadbolt did not seem all that secure, the doors were wooden type not heavy duty. But it was quiet, seemed mainly families staying there no loud partying or other incidents that can occur in these type of places. No mold or dirt or hair which was good. I would just recommend the owners get a really good cleaning and paint job to get rid of smells.

Pool, ping pong table, grill, corn-hole game, very short walk to the beach. I had a great time, the room was so cozy with little hints of "glam" around the light fixtures on the ceiling and on the lamps. The staff was also nice. I was not, in any way, disappointed!

I stayed here for 2 nights. It was ok. Here are my pro’s & con’s; Pro’s & Con’s: -Office staff were amazing. All of them so very nice. -Good rates compared to nearby hotels/motels. -Extremely close to the beach & local shops. -Our room was small. The sheets, towels, bathroom and floors were all clean. -The room was very dated. Had an overall dampness to it. (Yes I know it’s the beach but this was more of a damp musty thickness in the air). Odd random things were hung on the walls in weird places. Nothing matched at all; decor, pillow cases, sheets, bedspread- all were clean but all had different patterns which added to the dated look. -All rooms are non-smoking; however when the ac was turned down and the air freshener unplugged, the room had a light smoke smell. -They have 2 pools *one pool looked ok, the other looked green and had a dark ring around the water line. -Parking was terrible. Parking lot was super small, at weird angels and spots were meant for compact cars. -No bugs -No crazy situations -No noise issues Overall, would I stay here again? Yes, for a night or two but not for an entire week. And just as a note, there are so many more local hotels/motels that are way worse and way more dated than this one located in the very close vicinity.
