I visit this Marriott at least once if not twice a year for girls weekend, couple getaway, birthdays, or time on my own. The front desk is always friendly and helpful. Robin helped with my last visit this month and was cheerful and ready to provide info on restaurants and other activities. And Denise, the Housekeeping Manager always has a smile and is ready to help if we need anything make our stay better.
Stayed overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday. The Courtyard was spotless and looked like it had just had a fresh renovation. Everyone was courteous and cautious. Felt totally safe and comfortable during this Pandemic!
Arrived on a Thursday for a two night get-away. Covid protocols observed. Staff was efficient and friendly. Hotel well maintained. The king room was clean and well appointed. All rooms have balconies and facing the beach. Fantastic morning sunrise. The bistro offerings were limited due to restrictions, but a number of excellent options within walking distance. Breakfast at Kate's, dinners at Havanna's and The Deck House.
Not only did this place not have what they advertised as far as charging for EV, the engineer was constantly "off grounds", the place was grungy, and the elevators went out. Both of them. Simultaneously. We were on the 10th floor. The only answer was, "Yes, we were not expecting this. The repairmen are on the way" (this is on a Saturday) And then told us where the stairs were. There were tons of children and elderly staying here. How exactly would you like them to get up 10 floors safely? Atrocious.
This is a Marriott so the service is excellent. The location is excellent, better than anything else. For 250 a night however, the rooms could be better. Ours was still dirty. Yet, it’s covid, so we politely told the front desk we found crumbs and crackers and gummy bears under the pull out couch, and they were Very apologetic and immediately fixed it by sending up someone to clean - at 9 PM. Who looks under a pull out couch? I can overlook that. Yet the beds, couches, and decor is out of date. It’s clear this hotel hasn’t been updated in a decade or more. The response was top notch when we asked for assistance, though. And I must say everyone we talked with and interacted with was smiling and appreciative of our staying there. However, as a family of five, we will probably look for an Airbnb for that price per night so we can cook our own meals. I appreciate Marriott, yet this hotel needs a refurbish. We will not return. Probably not return to Carolina Beach, but that is another story.…
