We chose this hotel because of its location and its restaurant. Both lived up to expectations We had a room at the front which was large and comfortable though there was not aircon. The windows all opened and there were good insect screens. The bathroom was small and the shower was erratic and one morning I had a cold shower!...

First, I have to say that I didn't read the website carefully. If I had, I would have seen that there is no air conditioning in the rooms in the main building. Completely my fault. Having said that, it could be delightful if the weather cooperates. In 90+ days and 70 nights of summer, it was a pretty miserable sleep....

On the hillside overlooking the town with the Smokies in the background is the Inn the like of which you can remember from your childhood. An interesting lobby has a sitting porch with a view and a pleasant, informative Innkeeper. We did not need the benefit of the Volkswagon sized fireplace, though in June it was cool at night which...

This hotel harkens back to the 20s and 30s. The furnishings in the rooms will send you back in time. Though we were only there for dinner, we did walk past some of the rooms whose doors were open and ready for new guests. We went to the bar for some wine, but the terrific bartender, "Sarge", quickly had our...

Charming and rustic lodge. Beautiful view of Bryson city from the Balcony in the lobby area. Wonderful Restaurant where dinner and breakfast come with the price of your room! A great value and a nice experience. If you want a modern room with TV and such do not stay in main lodge. The main rooms are sweet and old fashioned....

Thoroughly enjoyed the Fryemont's lodge for a quick visit to the mountains. Situated with a view above Bryson City and convenient to town, the 1920's era lodge sits under tree cover and remains cooler. The overnight temperatures were in the 50's and we never missed the air conditioning. The most amazing thing happened in the absence of television in the...

After reading about the Fryemont for a few years we decided to go for a quick, local getaway. We were instantly charmed by the beautiful building and being greeted by the resident kitty upon entering. The lobby is relaxing - complete with fireplace, games and a porch with a lovely view of downtown and the mountains beyond. Our room was...

I am sitting in the lobby of one of the most timeless Inns I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. 37 historic rooms, a dining room that feels like your in an old 1940's movie, food that is wholesome, elegant, and perfectly portioned, service that makes you feel like you're a guest in their home and they are the...

The Fryemont Inn is a perfect place to relax, slow down, read, and get reacquainted with family. The building has historic charm and creaking floors. No air conditioning, but the beautiful mountain breezes and fresh air provide much better sleep. No distractions from electronics, since wifi is only available in the main sitting room. Board games, conversations around the fireplace,...

We have been to the Fryemont Inn several times but this year we thought we would take a break form the hustle and bustle of things and decided to spend an intimate family holiday there. We choose the Fryemont Inn because of the location, and the value and not to mention because we have been there before and enjoyed it....
