Mom and I spent two peaceful days at the Fryemont. The staff was helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the rocking chairs on the front porch for hours watching the sunset then lightening bugs. After traveling for several days, we both needed a rest and the Fryemont was perfect for that. Bryson City is a small town full of friendly people....

We stayed at the Fryemont Inn last evening and found it very disappointing, at any price. Although the hotel and restaurant staff were very kind and welcoming, the hotel itself was run down and seemed poorly maintained inside and out. (cracked cement, ancient carpeting, no security lighting). Our room was dingy and musty with threadbare linens and poorly placed lights...

We absolutely loved it here and wished we could have stayed longer, plus got to try the restaurant (we arrived too late on the night we checked in), as the breakfast was excellent. Staff really went out of their way to look after us and ensure we had the room we liked best (shame that they weren't completely full, they...

Second visit and just as charmed. The historic lodge is reminiscent of many built in parks and privately during the 20s, country destinations often the site of dances. Great dining room and dining room in the open beam style. Historic rooms tend to have the sink in the bedroom. There are more modern rooms in a lovely stone building and...

Motorcycle Friendly. Reserved parking. Area to wash bikes. Stayed here for 7 nights while touring the Smokey Mountains on motorcycles. We will definitely come back. You would be hard pressed to find more friendly, accommodating staff anywhere else. These folks go out of their way to please their customers. Breakfast and dinner are all home cooked, with a large variety...

If you can't relax at the Fryemont, you can't relax. Rustic (all kinds of wood...lumber baron's housing for employees), friendly (staff & owners), no air conditioning (not needed...cool crisp air), Inn prices include order off the (very good) menu dinner & breakfast, TV & wifi in the Great Room only (nice break from "being connected"...might even find new friends to...

We, a family of 4 including 2 teenagers, stayed at one of the log cabins beside the Fryemont Inn for two nights over the New Year period. The Inn itself was closed but the cabin was available for a 2-night minimum stay. We wanted somewhere close to the Great Smoky National Park and didn't want to stay in Asheville or...

How do I describe Fryemont Inn so readers will get a good idea of what it's like? The atmosphere is like a National Park Lodge with lots of wood, a huge main room with tables holding games and partially completed jigsaw puzzles, comfortable softly worn leather furniture, a stone fireplace that holds 8 foot logs, and a porch lined with...

The historic Fryemont Inn has a lot of character and is well located above Bryson City, which I found to be an excellent spot with which to start a 4 day tour of The Smokies. The common areas, bar and restaurant, all in the main building, are atmospheric and inviting. The food was wholesome and plentiful: eating by the fireside...
