My husband and I stayed at the Fryemont the week before Thanksgiving . We brought my parents with us. When you enter the Inn , you feel like you are home, and at the same time that you have stepped back in time and are a part of history. Oh ,if those walls could talk , the

A visit to Bryson City is not complete without a visit to the Fryemont for dinner... They have the absolute best pecan crusted trout... I prefer to sit at the bar where the personable Sarge (the bartender) takes great care of me. The inn is an incredibly charming and historic

My wife and I are pretty simple, so the lack of tv or internet was not a turnoff. We celebrated our 20th anniversary here this fall. I found this place by luck, just browsing the internet. It is a place of yester-year. My wife kept saying that the smell and look of the inn

Historic main lodge. Quaint aspects like lobby where guests actually hang out & play board games by the large stone fireplace are countered by other parts needing attention. Some floors are slanted, which is kind of neat so long as you are stable. If you’re going, just embrace

We stayed 3 nights during the first week of October. Our package included the room, breakfast, and dinner. Every single staff member was pleasant and helpful. Several were quite interesting and seemed genuinely happy to share their knowledge and converse. High marks

Response from George B, Owner at Fryemont Inn
Responded 23 Oct 2018
Thanks so much for your honest review. You absolutely nailed it! The Fryemont is definitely not for folks who are looking for a Hampton Inn, or any other chain hotel. It is one of a handful of unique, historic wooden lodges left in the USA, and is on the National Registor of Historic Places. There were many 20 or 30 years ago, but alas, most are now gone. In an attempt to stay true to the historic nature of the Inn, we have no TV's or telephones in the rooms, but they are available to folks who just must have them. As for the AC, most nights, even in July and August, the temperature is in the low 60's, so AC is not a problem for most of our guests. Glad you had a great time, and look forward to having you back with us again soon!

It's usually in the 50s and 60s in early March, and in the 60s and low 70s in late March. I'd contact the outdoor venues you'd like to do (like ziplining or whitewater rafting, both of which are cool), to see if they are open for the season in March.

The train station is 5 minutes from the lodge. Bryson City is very small, so if anything is within the city, it won't take long to get to it. I don't know anything about the ballooning events. You might contact the lodge and see if they know where tickets can be purchased.

Is there wi-fi available on the property?
Hello. The cabins and balcony rooms have wifi. There is wifi available in the lobby of the lodge. Wifi is not available in all the rooms; but this IS an experience of being free from the short chain.
