In our many travels to North Carolina, this hotel had the worst beds. They desperately needed replacing. The mattresses are completely worn out. The room was clean, but smelled musty. The remote did not work, but we weren’t there to watch TV. There is a large, open balcony overlooking the River. You’ll be talking to your neighbors. The area is not separated. The entry doors are very flimsy, so if you are security minded, you may not be comfortable. The location is excellent. The staff didn’t know the wifi password. The vending machines were completely sold out. It’s a very old property, and that doesn’t bother me. I usually find it charming. The dreadful mattresses are enough that we will mark it off our list. Not one decent night of sleep during our visit. There was a refrigerator and microwave in the room. Forget a hot shower. There was not enough hot water. It would get cold really quickly. An older property is fine, but the bed linens didn’t look clean, which freaks me out, and no one cleaned our room or brought more towels.

We had a great experience . The room was clean and the beds were comfy . The back balcony was on the river so that made for a relaxing time . The only issue we had was with our air conditioner making a loud grinding noise when it first come on but after a few minutes it sounded normal . Quick and easy check in and check out .

This an older motel that is 5 miles from Cherokee toward Bryson City. There is a river that runs behind the motel that is fairly close. The back of the motel has a long shared porch with wooden rocking chairs to sit in and enjoy the view and sounds of the river. The room was very nice with microwave and refrigerator. Both were clean as well as the room and bathroom. Shower had good water pressure which is always important. Room had 2 beds and they were comfortable. Quiet area. No breakfast or WiFi but that was ok. Good nightly rate compared to others in the area. Would definitely stay there again.

The room I had was 106. It is the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in at a hotel. The sheets , pillows and blankets were also super comfy. The design of the room is cute. Blackout curtains on the slider. There are adorable rocking chairs in the front and the back. There's a back porch that you can watch the river go by. It's winter so there was no use of the pool. Plenty of hot water , clean fresh towels. The lady that checked me in was friendly.

Amenities are few, there wasn't even a hairdryer in the bathroom. I didn't see any bugs, but I kept looking for them. The rockers on the back deck are nice for watching the ducks and geese on the little river. But it isn't secluded, there are buildings on the other side of the river. The rate was high for the condition of the property, but it was leaf season, so I suppose they can charge whatever they want.
