If I could give it no stars I would. We received an email confirmation the day we booked followed by an email the day prior to our arrival stating our room was ready, only to arrive and find the place boarded up closed for health and safety hazards! No refund given!
Booked hotel through Travelocity. Received confirmation and arrived at hotel to find it had been boarded up and abandoned. It is impossible to get Travelocity to return my calls with a live person. Their virtual assistant calls back and puts me on hold for hours then the call drops. I've tried several times to contact them. I will never book with Travelocity again.
I booked two nights with Expedia. And when I arrived the front of the hotel was boarded-up. I contacted an Expedia agent, and they will not refund my money because the owner doesn't answer the phone or email them back. As a quadriplegic, this put me in a bad situation so far from home. Bryson City Chamber of Commerce told me that the owner of the Microtel Inn Bryson City also owned the Sleep Inn Bryson City. When I contacted him, he claimed the abandoned property has water damage but he is not the owner. I feel like I'm being scammed. I will not use Expedia again.
I'd rate a 0 if I coud. The morning prior to our stay we called to see what their breakfast options were. Unable to get a human. Checked TripAdvisor and saw a couple of reviews saying it was closed. After 2 calls to Wyndham Reservations and Customer Care, I was told hotel was closed until "next month". CC noted my information so that I wouldn't be billed for my last minute cancellation. I thought it was strange that the 2 Wyndham reps did not try to rebook me at another property. but one of them did want to try to sell me a credit card. Not impressed!!!
I booked reservation at Bryson City, NC Inn before seeing recent review indication that the hotel was boarded up. I called to verify and was told that it is indeed closed until further notice. My reservation was cancelled but was told that the 19.99 service fee is non-refundable. I will be contacting reservations.com for refund of this fee since the hotel is not open.
