The Boone KOA is an excellent example of what campgrounds should be. Cleanliness is outstanding and the staff was very friendly and hospitable. Sites are nice but a little small. They have a well stocked store but game room is a little lacking. The one...More
We thought KOA had a industry standard, but no so with KOA Boone, NC.
First, as other reviewers mentioned, if you have a big rig, the drive just to get there is unpleasant.
The campsites are so close to each other, your neighbor will have...More
We actually enjoyed this KOA, You can tell the owners\ managers actually care about the grounds. Friendly staff, quick check in and pretty quiet at night and in the morning.
The roads are a bit crazy but you just have to take them slower.

No, not all are pull through with full hookups, but a majority are. There are also tent sites, Mostly its set up with the pull through sites to the right of the main road, and mostly the back in sites are to the left behind the check-in/store building along with the seasonal sites. The tent sites are also to the right as soon as you pull into the grounds
They do have "seasonal" sites, however I do not remember the prices, would have to call. Word of caution however - They do shut this campground down in the winter however and drain the water d/t the elevation.
