This was the most unique place we stayed on our two weeks in Ireland. This Estate house has over 90 rooms. You can't see all of them as part of the house is still being restored. All of the bedrooms are huge with antique furniture. The bathrooms are updated and nicely appointed with plenty of hot water. If you want...

Barry Thanks for your thorough report. Every aspect of your stay should be fantastic and memorable for all the right reasons. We'll take a closer look at the mattresses in that room. Thanks for the tip. This is the first time we've had mention of this problem. We'll take your word for it and get some new ones straight away....

We have a fantastic time stepping into history. The property is breathtaking with a castle ruin and private lake. The owners were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. After we put our baby to sleep, we had a delicious dinner served in all the fanciness on a table that can fit 20! After dinner, we retired...

What a wonderful week - no television! Just time together with family exploring this beautiful property. This was truly a step back in time. We had breakfast daily and dinner three evenings while at Temple House. The breakfasts were hearty and the dinners five star. Roderick and his wife Helena were wonderful hosts who had an abundance of information on...

We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed the week. It was fun having you. TH is indeed ideal for a house party or get-together. Just 7 rooms offers enough flexibility with accommodation and yet there is still a real sense of intimacy despite the grand rooms too.

Since purchasing the May 1996 copy of Bon Appetit I have dreamt of seeing Temple House. Eighteen years later, my family and I had the experience of a lifetime. Temple House is spectacular, the hospitality by Roderick and family was personal and warm. We arrived on a rainy afternoon and walked the grounds. It was magical. My son took the...

Our stay at Temple House in June 2014 is one of our favorite times in many years of travel. As others have described the house and its comforts, I'll concentrate here on Helena's cooking. She is amazing! My favorite is her goat cheese appetizer, the best I've ever had. At breakfast, be sure to ask for Roderick's poached eggs. (Sorry,...

Roderick's valiant attempts at poached eggs! He's getting better... Helena's wonderful dinners are certainly worth a mention. Damien Brennan's enthusiasm for WB Yeats and Co Sligo is indeed infectious. Just one of the attractions of Co Sligo. Thank you.

We stayed regretfully for only one night. Gorgeous setting, definitely get out on the lake if you can. I loved reading the history of the place. Our room was very comfortable with a gorgeous view and the bathroom was modern. Will definitely be back!

As I write, the evening light is hitting the beech trees on the far shore of the lake. It is indeed very beautiful. Thank you for taking the trouble to submit your review.

I traveled with my wife's immediate family to Ireland for my sister-in-law's wedding and we stayed at Temple House for the ceremony. This place was amazing. The house was really neat. The rooms were all very large and impeccably furnished. The rehearsal dinner was one of the best I've had...ever. And the grounds set a perfect mood for the outdoor...

We like the word experience although it can often be over used but it does reinforce the fact that you don't just rent a room at Temple House. You come for the entire experience. Hope to see you here again. Thank you.

A group of us ladies visiting Sligo Secret Gardens decided to eat out one evening and we were recommended Temple House. We arrived early and were warmly welcomed by Roderick at the front door. We had drinks out on the lawn overlooking the most splendid scenery and chatted with other guests staying at the house? Dinner was served in a...

My husband and I just did a road trip through the UK and Ireland. We had read a National Geographic article about Irish manor house hotels and committed ourselves to stay at one. We decided on Temple House because it happened to fit perfectly with our route, but after staying here I think that you should go out of your...

My whole family stayed here before my brother's wedding and loved every minute of it. The house is stunning, the drive up to it is gorgeous too and the setting is very picturesque. The rooms are all huge and lovely. We saw a good variety of them - all big but some absolutely massive! The food was lovely - 3...

Thank you very much for your positive review. We like being a favourite. Come see us again. You'll have to try the compote of rhubarb from the walled garden for breakfast next time.
