We arrived to meet Rodrick Perceval, the owner and proprietor of this amazing property, which has been in his family for centuries. The Temple House is a very, very special place, and a special stay, to be remembered. The entire house is a history lesson of his French and English ancestry, tracing back to the 1600s. The house is in...

Thank you! You describe things rather well. "You feel like you're living in the 18th and 19th century, with all the amenities and conveniences of the 21st century." Please note that we are in the Hidden Ireland group of private historic houses.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Temple House in the Half Acre room and had a truly memorable experience. Our room was recently renovated and absolutely beautiful - so big that we could run from one side to the other! From the furniture to the wall hangings, everything about Temple House is so authentic. Dinner was delicious and served in...

Roderick and Helena hosted our wedding with six days notice after our wedding venue closed down which was no small feat as they were closed at the time. Everyone raved about the house and the amazing surroundings. We feel so lucky to have had our wedding there and to have met such lovely people. I cannot recommend this enough. Worth...

We had a wonderful time at Temple House and love the beautifully restored grand country home in a pretty pastoral setting. The food was delicious. My room was comfortable, and I had the most beautiful view of the castle ruins and the lake. Roderick is a wonderful person and the most gracious host. He is doing an excellent job to...

Temple House is a period house/mansion dating from the 1600s. If you're looking for somewhere special to stay, with fabulous food and incredible bedrooms - views included - then you must stay here. Roderick and Helena provide a warm welcome to every guest who visits their home. Wood stoves abound, stained glass windows, original tiled floors, couches, warmth - a...

Temple House is a fine Georgian mansion set in a family estate in excess of 1,000 acres. Near the house are the the lakeside ruins of a Knights Templar castle. Temple House itself is now a luxury country guest house, like a hotel. Originally built in c. 1825, it was substantially extended and decorated in the 1860s. The house is...

Temple House is certainly a one of a kind experience. From the vintage home, the wonderful host Roderick (Helena was not there for our 1 night) to the dining experience with the other guests, every moment was special. To top off our stay, we put on the provided Wellies and took 3 of their dogs out through the meadow to...

We first visited Temple House on our honeymoon back in 2005. Enjoyed it so much we went back the next year. We have just been back to celebrate our 10th anniversary and to see what Roderick and Helena have been up to over the 10 year period. The house retains its shabby chic old family home appeal and Roderick is...

I was a little worried when we first drove up to the front of the estate. It was raining and very muddy. They are working on enhancing the entrance and it showed. What a mistake to doubt. The house and grounds are a living history museum. Roderick and his staff treated us as family. Take part in the family style...

"living history" Hugh, thank you very much. I recall your arrival - it was indeed a wee bit muddy since we had been filling in a trench to take our new gas supply for additional hot water and heat. We are pleased to report that installation is complete and very effective. There is also fresh pea gravel out front now!
