What a great surprise. We drove from Hickory to Jackalopes to have brunch and celebrate my birthday. The food was excellent. The chef, the owner and all staff truly made me feel like a queen for the day. The food was delicious, unique, fresh and the chef surprised me with a personal cake made by him from scratch! We did not stay in the inn. We had brunch on Sunday. The food and service were great and the chef came out to ask us about the brunch and tell us about using local food and making most things from scratch including the pasta. The view is beautiful.

This is a lovely mountain resort at the entry to Beech Mountain. The room we had was cozy and clean. The view is spectacular. We could hear the winds howling, and it can get a bit chilly in the evenings, even in May.

Great place to stay. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms with great views: the rocking chairs on the deck were a nice touch. And the restaurant is one of the best in the city. Fireplaces, Stone works in the Inn create a unique atmosphere.

This property is high on the mountain with beautiful views. Within 10 minutes of arrival I was planning our NEXT stay - it was that good. We had the Carolina Room. It was cool during our stay, so we had a nice roaring fire both nights. The bed was comfy with nice linens. The room was very large and looked...

Definitely a relaxing weekend stay in a beautiful, quiet, rustic lodge. Dinner at the onsite restaurant was amazing -- everything was tasty, and obviously very thoughtfully prepared by a well-skilled chef. The staff were very nice and friendly. We stayed in the Roof Garden room. It was immaculately clean, with one queen bed, a soft mattress, nice bedding and assorted...

Fabulous dinner at the inn's restaurant, Jackalope's View, and the hot tub on the roof suite is the best! The staff even assisted my gluten-free needs from appetizers to dessert. We will definitely return!
