My daughter, son in law and I stayed at Finglen House after attending a wedding nearby. The house was a delight , comfortable and quirky. The hosts Sabrina and Douglas Campbell were extremely attentive and charming and the breakfast was plentiful and delicious. I would definitely stay there again and would have no hesitation in recommending it to a friend.

Finglen is a beautiful house, both in it's location and interior furnishings - however, most comfortable and with a homely feel. Sabrina and Douglas are charming hosts (as are the two dogs!) and we thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay. The bedroom and en-suite nicer than some hotels, and the breakfast delicious. We thoroughly recommend it, and hope to return.

Sabrina and Douglas were the perfect hosts - interested and interesting company. Lovely house and surroundings. That's all I need to say really but this draconian system makes continue to type meaninglessly until I get over 200 words.

We enjoyed a fabulous 2 night stay. Our hostess was delightful...very welcoming, helpful and accommodating. She even allowed us to split our stay at very short notice. The house is in a stunning location with lovely gardens. Our bedroom was large, very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Bed was extremely comfortable and of a very high standard. Breakfast was wide ranging...

Finglen House is an absolute find. From the moment you arrive you are treated like one of the family by the wonderful hosts Sabrina and Douglas. It felt like home from home with the most comfortable bed and excellent room facilities. Breakfast was held in the informal dining room with a roaring fire adding to the ambience. Not to forget...

The minute you walk through the front door at Finglen House, you know it's a special place and it doesn't take long for the warmth to rub off on you. My favourite B&B ever. The house, hosts (Sabrina & Douglas), food, beds & setting were all fantastic. There are some homes you go into where you leave your troubles behind... and this is one of those homes. We just felt like we could slot in there as part of the family. I was staying there with my 2 children and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Finglen House nestles at the foot of the spectacular Campsie Hills just 30 minutes north of Glasgow & 10 minutes from the National Park, 30 minutes from Loch Lomond. Finglen enjoys an idyllic setting bordered on one side by the Fin Burn, home to herons, dippers, Grey wagtail and mallard, and on the other by mature woodland. The beautiful eight acre garden gives a feeling of complete seclusion, rare for a property so close to Glasgow. Finglen provides an excellent base for expeditions to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling or for exploring and experiencing the sublime beauty of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. You could ride your bike all the way to Edinburgh or Glasgow without touching a road. Douglas works as a documentary cameraman and has travelled extensively in Scotland and is happy to give advice on expeditions further afield. ... more   less
