The Orchid restaurant here has good views over the gardens and has been one of our favourites for lunch. Unfortunately there is now a revised menu which is not nearly as good as before. Coupled with the inevitable price increase this makes it a less attractive destination for lunch.
Went for lunch with friends. The menu is vast & is accompanied by a chefs special menu too. Food was cooked to perfection,( 2 chargilled butterfly chicken & 1 salmon & prawns ) generous portions & beautifully presented. The biscotti pavlova was the nicest dessert I've ever had & the lemon meringue pie got the same verdict. Compliments to the chef! Robynn our waitress was very attentive, helpful, friendly & a total credit to you. I was pleasantly surprised by the bill. We usually meet up once a month & try somewhere different but we all agree that this will be our restaurant of choice from now on. Thanks for a beautiful meal, lovely surroundings, value for money , great staff & a first class experience.
Had dinner last night, must say it was very very good. Well done. The menu has changed and you get a better choice now. We have eaten in the restaurant a few times and the last couple of times we though it was not that good but I'm pleased to say things have improved.
Last minute visit to Dalmeny. Will definitely return. It was first class. Beautifully decorated.clean and fresh. Room was stunning. Very comfy. The food was really tasty and good value. The staff were amazing. So naturally friendly and helpful. Felt they really cared that we were enjoying our time there. Excellent.
This was our second stay here (having stayed pre-pandemic) and our 5th visit to a RAD site and I was a little disappointed. The hotel is beautiful and very clean, check in was a breeze - first time ever we didn’t get an upgrade when staying at a RAD hotel but the room was still lovely, spotless and didn’t disappoint. We had dinner included and that’s where it got a bit disappointing. One reason we decided to stay again was that the food was superb. Sadly this time that wasn’t the case. We waited over 30 minutes to order food & drinks, the dining room was stiflingly hot, understaffed and service was haphazard. The food was mediocre at best, the bread roll could have been used as a weapon. We decided to eat elsewhere the second night of our stay. Breakfast was really disappointing both days. The veggie option promised Quorn sausage but instead it was a vegetable sausage which was like mush and the poached eggs while soft were completely inedible as they were swimming in vinegar both days. There was also a fire alarm…the fire exit for our room was filled with laundry blocking the route out. Not a single staff member appeared to assist guests. Folk were just aimlessly wandering about trying to find a way out or get info on what was going on. It was all a real muddle. Just as well it was a false alarm. In short it’s a lovely hotel but our first visit was much better than this recent one. We probably won’t hurry back.…
6 of us went for a family meal on Sun 3rd of April. We had a reservation and were seated as soon as we arrived, drinks orders were taken fairly quickly and so were meal orders. All 6 of us were extremely impressed with our meals!! The chicken tempura starter is divine and I cannot pick fault in any of our meals. Special shout out to the mixed grill burger my dad had, he said it was the best burger he has ever had! This was my first time here and it won't be my last. Thanks for making my grans 80th birthday so good.
I went for a meal with my family as soon as we were seated it took 35 minutes for us to be asked for our drinks order, the food came pretty quickly however the standard was beyond bad. the fish and ships were very greezy the fish a piece of grease proof paper stuck to it, the king prawn was suppose to be done in a spicy tomato sauce however the spice made the food impossible to eat to enjoy and taste the flavours it was obvious there was far too much spice and hadn't been cooked through properly (THAT GOT SENT BACK) for the main meal exchange we waited another 30 minutes for macaroni which was very tasty however the garlic bread was solid hard and char grilled to the extent it was burnt. We later sat for some cocktails which were served by the service manager to then spill some of the drink on the table, which was cleaned up with a paper napkin that she put down as a coaster for the cocktail to sit on. I have been to the hotel on many occasions and i have never had such bad service or food. Definitely somewhere i will not visit in a hurry…
Food was exceptionally good and set with lovley surroundings Will definitely be back. Great parking and lovely venue will definitely be going around other RAD group venues to see what they have to offer
We went to the restaurant last night wow what a meal everything was perfect staff, food, parking atmosphere. Everything that was ordered was pipping hot the restaurant is stunning inside with beautiful views out to the gardens surrounding the windows. You get what you pay for so as much as it's a little dearer than a standard restaurant you won't be dissapointed alcohol and drinks prices are just the same as.other restaurants.
We stayed here for an overnight stay which included dinner and breakfast. We had a beautiful room overlooking the grounds. Very tastefully decorated and ultra clean. We really enjoyed the delicious food for dinner in the restaurant, the very comfortable bed, the fabulous cooked brekky which was cooked to our taste on request but the very best thing was the friendly attentive staff. From the welcome we received at reception, the bar staff, the restaurant staff at dinner and breakfast is a credit to the hotel. Thank you so much for your 5 star service. We will definitely be back.
