Firstly I can only review dinning at the King's Park. We booked a nostalgic evening as we had our wedding there 32 yes ago. Arrived & the place was deserted. Headed to the Bistro, young man serving there ignored us 3 times passing us by...not even a hello. Eventually acknowledged us in some fashion & shown to a seat. Asked if we could have a different one but we're told they would be setting up for breakfast soon!!! It was only 6.30pm!! Can only presume the young man obviously had no training at all as he really didn't seem to have a clue & not in any way customer friendly. We didn't get the right menu & when we asked he had no idea what a table de hote menu was. Then he couldn't find s full bottle of shiraz!! It was honestly like a really bad episode of Faulty Towers but with less laughs. Eventually a young woman came & told us that we couldn't have that menu but they could do us a bit of salmon!!! She then went to the table behind us (the only other table seated) to take away their starters..to which they told her had been "awful & disgusting " to which she just replied "sorry about that" That was the last straw so we had to get up & say we were leaving...to which she just said OK.. We weren't expecting 5 star dinning but what service we did get was absolutely awful. Will never return.…
Stayed overnight, a really pleasant experience ,hotel clean and super friendly ,Gary was a gem at breakfast, just a thoroughly friendly experience .I would recommend and certainly stay again ,thankyou staff
So booked this as it accepted dogs and close to everything we needed for a short break. Hmm old and dated rooms, dusty, broken crisps down next to bed so not hoovered as there was still confetti left from a previous party in the bathroom and carpeted areas in rooms and down stairs. Bath glass had marks all over it, toilet brush covered in excrement, bathroom fan dusty, bathroom roof black mould, cups in room still had a tea stain from previous guest even the one I used I cleaned before using, noisy rooms not sure if it’s a boiler room near by but it drones all night long, what sounds like a leak in the roof as well? Our other room was much and such the same my brother found a toe nail in his bed, noises again from whatever that droning noise is. Duvet is old and well used same with pillows, I’ve paid less before and had such a better room. Room was warm that’s about the only good thing. I own a cleaning company and if I left a clients home in that state I wouldn’t get paid and have bad reviews. Staff friendly enough. I know it’s a 3* but you expect it to be at least hoovered glass cleaned etc…
