Our arrival at the hotel was very warm and welcoming, especially thanks to the kindness of the girl at the reception, who was very kind and always willing to help us and guide us in our exploration of the city. The hotel rooms are suitable for spending the night and resting comfortably, as well as being conveniently located near the center, making it easy to access places to eat and visit. As for breakfast, although it is not very complete, it offers the basic foods necessary to start the day.

We spent the fourth evening of our 2024 Camino Portuguese at Hotel Avenida in Pontevedra. Our stay was good with the hotel in a commercial zone not far from the historic center of Pontevedra. For pilgrims, the hotel is on your entry into the city and about a block off the Camino. The hotel has two small elevators enabling bags to be transferred easily but can get busy in the morning as guests prepare to depart. The rooms weee spacious, and reasonably comfortable. Our trek was our shortest segment giving us additional time to experience the community. We had a late lunch and dinner finding many great restaurant choices not far from the hotel. We also found a place to do some laundry (Lavanderia) about a block away. We visited the chapel Igrexa da Virxe Peregrina and had our pilgrim passport stamped and the Basilica de Santa Maria. Strolling through the historical area was amazing and found a great dinner in the area. The breakfast as adequate, busy, and coffee machines slow.

I spent a night here with friends while we were cycling the Camino Portuguese. It was basic, clean, comfortable accommodation and the staff was most helpful. They provided us with information on the next day's ride as well as local places of interest. It was a very pleasant stay.

We stayed whilst hiking the Camino for one night. The hotel manager at the front is amazing, he was so helpful and explained where all the best places to see and eat were and spoke to us a little bit about the area and the Camino. This was our friendliest experience by far on the Camino as we found that other hotels weren’t very friendly at all.
Unfortunately it’s only a 3* because the rooms are just a bit dated and the noise from outside was quite loud. The rooms were very spacious which was great, although the radiators didn’t work, which after a full day of hiking in the rain wasn’t great for drying off our clothes.
When we arrived our rooms weren’t ready but we were happy to wait in the bar area attached and were actually quite grateful for the space. Breakfast in the morning was okay, but it was the busiest we had seen it on our Camino and only 2 members of staff were working so there were large queues and not many tables.
Fine for a one night stay but I wouldn’t book to stay at the hotel otherwise.

Customer service here is excellent, but even they can’t make up for the fact that the hotel is knackered and in need of renovation. Rooms at the front overlook the noisy road and roundabout- ask for a room at the back ( we changed rooms). Our room had a completely rusted radiator, mould on the bathroom ceiling, one chair even though it was a double room, 4 hangars and no hooks in the bathroom or bedroom. Our clothes had to be piled on the floor. The shower leaked everywhere leaving the bathroom awash. The bed had one large bolster, no separate pillows and one blanket- we asked for a second one because it was cold, but never got it . Breakfast was average. It is located relatively near the old town and very near a laundromat, probably the only things going for it!

We had a well equipped room in this centrally located hotel, just outside the old town. The room only had one chair for a room intended for two. There's no outside space apart from a rather unattractive bar. The restaurant was also uninviting and the host encouraged us to seek dining elsewhere. Breakfast was poor and we quickly ate up and left. There seemed to be lots of house rules and we were pleased we were only staying one night. We're sure you can find better accommodation elsewhere.

Hotel placement is central and next to the camino. Rooms simple but very clean. However, brakfast was very poor, and staff had no overview of buffet status. Missing both bread, meat, cheese, juice etc - and tables were not cleaned after guests who left , so nearly impossible to find a table. Staff more busy serving guests in bar and putting out tables in front of hotel. We joined breakfast before 7:30.

We had a very friendly welcome! Were able to ckeck in early, which we weren’t in many of the other hotels we stayed at. Liked their commitment to the planet. Useful handout with highlights of the town. Spacious room. Good breakfast. Walking distance to city is less that 15 minutes.

The rooms were comfortable, the beds gave us a good quality rest. The staff helped us with some tips about restaurants around, but unfortunately they do not have a parking close to them so they suggest you to park on the street, which was completely full already. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay here.

The hotel is in a great location, rooms are nice and the faculty is clean and well maintained. The staff that we experienced are all very helpful and pleasant.. particularly Borja the front desk manager on October 25/26 was excellent. Would recommend this hotel.. the service quality of the staff made the difference at least for us.
