We found this hotel to be the “total package”! Located centrally in Prosecco Land and one hr north of Venice, the quiet, historical town of Follina hosts this villa. Service is welcoming, professional and helpful. Ask any question! Breakfast and dinner are exceptional! We ate from both the Bistrot and restaurant menu (Mich 1 star). We will return! PS Could be a perfect layover for flights in or out of Venice.
No hot water in our bathroom! After a long drive we arrived around 17h30 and wanted to have a shower, but the water was cold. We phoned the reception and they told us to wait 15 min. A half an hour later we tried again the water, but it remained cold. We went to bed.
This is a nice traditional Italian hotel. Very few people are staying here during this time of year. The gardens are beautiful and in bloom. Perhaps the best part of the hotel are the two proprietors who have been courteous and kind. The rooms are eclectic ours had a very nice terrace.
Villa Abbazia is a lovely, very charming place in the village Follina - situated in the middle of an idyllic garden. Perfect place for relaxing, cycling and extraordinary good food!! Absolutely fantastic.
This great hotel and it‘s garden is really extraordinary. Great atmosphere, sensational restaurant and great wine. Giovanni Zenon, the owner and his sisters create a really great place to enjoy. Especially their knowledge about the region, the cycling experience, local food and wine are very helpful
This hotel offers a mix of Victorian and country style. My room was comfortable, though not too spacious, and it overlooked the lovely garden. The hotel is located in the center of the village, while being quiet at night. Unfortunately the hotel's parking lot is very small--I was lucky to find a spot in the public lot across the street. The breakfast was nice, but served in a rather cramped alcove. Good service, although the staff were quite busy. Most of the guests were Italian when I was there.
The service at this hotel was very friendly. Lunch in the bistro was delicious even though my friend had to wait a while for her second course. One of the best breakfasts I have ever eaten. Rooms very comfortable.
We stayed at the Villa Abbazia just for one night - luckily. The welome by the staff was not friendly, it was pouring with rain but no help with the luggage or where the underground parking was located was offered. We asked beforehand if it was ok to bring our dogs and they were confirming to us how dog-friendly a place they were...they are not. Dogs are not allowed during breakfast or dinner - one lady was even scared of our two little Maltese dogs, ridiculous. While breakfast was included in the pretty expensive price, we didnt have any, as we didnt want to leave our dogs alone in the room - room service would have been an extra EUR 20. Again - ridiculous as we paid close to EUR 300 for a night anyway but that didnt seem enough. So to be absolutely clear here: we would not stay here one more night, Villa Abbazia is overpriced, overrated, unfriendly, not anywhere close to a hotel of the allegeded standard - avoid.…
This hotel is beautiful - every detail is perfect and gorgeous - now I want to check out other Relais & Chateaux properties, since this one is so perfect. Giovanni is a marvelous host - and the food and wine at the restaurant and bistro are exceptional. the staff could not have been more accommodating - and the breakfast spread is plentiful - any single item you might want is available. Wonderful!
We visited this hotel whilst doing a Prosecco tasting tour for our wedding. It is charming, beautiful and peaceful. Everyone that we met as soon as we walked in was warm and kind. The hospitality that you would expect from Italians. The hotel itself is fantastic and beautiful. The gardens are amazing and stunning. Everything from the fresh flowers in the room to the amazing home cooked breakfast was perfect. I cannot wait to return with my whole family. Fantastic trip and fantastic hotel. Thank you so much.
