Stayed here as some R&R after trekking Kilimanjaro. Was disappointed with the quality of the room ( none Ocean front twin - no sign of outside showers, lovely bath etc mentioned in other reviews ), shabby pool ( looks great in photos but cracked tiles etc ), cleanliness of food area ( an insect fest at breakfast ), but this...

We have stayed in 5 lodges/hotels in the Zanzibar Archipelago and found that Fumba Lodge was over priced. The Lodge is in need of a refurbishment. At the price that we paid we didn't expect thread bare bed linen and towels . On a positive note our evening meal was always lovely , well cooked and well presented . We...

To finish off our amazing two week anniversary in Tanzania, we spent one night at the Swahili House hotel in Stone Town and two nights at Fumba Beach Lodge (same owner). At both places, the views were astonishing, the food was excellent, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. At Swahili House the sunset from the rooftop bar was...

I was looking at a quiet place to spend the day at the beach not too far from Stone Town and the people I was renting from recommended Fumba Beach. Most of the time when going to a beach is probably more practical (and safer?) to find a resort of some sort so you have the option to order food/drinks...

We stayed in 2 ocean view rooms which were well appointed and with amazing views. The ambience is extremely calm and naturally beautiful. Amazing trees , lovely pool, amazing breakfasts and dinners on the beach. The snorkelling day trip combined with lunch on an island is highly recommended. Highly recommend this beach lodge and its friendly and professional staff.

The Fumba Beach Lodge was marvelous. Beautiful surroundings and lovely beach - at least it's empty and there aren't any other hotels/lodges close by, unlike the north of Zanzibar. The staff were great and could not do enough for you. I loved the relaxed laid back atmosphere. Lovely pool, good diving/snorkeling facilities and very good massage. Ate lobster served at...

Beautiful relaxing place with outstanding African staff! They couldn't be more helpful. Rooms 1-6 are outstanding with private beaches for swimming. Don't expect that you get the rooms that you book. It was very disappointing to find 2 of our rooms had to share the 3rd night due to over booking. This was a special family holiday and we were...

After a rather lengthy induction session we got to our rooms. Nicely appointed with a large bed and ceiling fan. Large bathroom with bath and outdoor shower which was lovely to use. Enjoyed making use of the happy hour (5-6) at the main and dhow bars. Our first evening meal was excellent with slick friendly service on the beach. Wifi...

Were guests at Fumba Beach Lodge at the end of a wonderful twelve-night safari in mainland Tanzania, followed by a two-night stay in Stonetown, great to have ended our trip with three nights in this wonderful lodge. The rooms were excellent, well kept and well appointed. The food was excellent, some spicy, some not. The bar was excellent, with a...
