Stopped off for food and drink while passing through. Really friendly staff, great views, good food at reasonable prices. Venue offers rooms for longer stays. Can also fish in the river behind the venue when the water level is higher. Very picturesque.

This is a great place to stay on your way up to Afriski. You can stay in Ficksburg, Fouriesburg, Clarens or elswewhere but at least at Oxbow you are through the border and can sleep in a little bit later before you drive the 30 minutes to Afriski. The accommodation is rustic. The rooms are very spacious but basic. They... More

The not-so-new New Oxbow Lodge is adequate and functional. The family room we occupied was clean and comfortable. A functional gas heater was provided for the very cold winter nights in July when we visited. Stayed here to visit Afriski during the busy winter school holidays when the ski resort get booked out quite quickly. Provided meals are not great... More

We had to sleep over at Oxbow as the road to Afriski was snowed in (we pre-booked at Afri). At the price per night... I was a bit taken aback at what you get. The room was cold (nr 20), with thick ice in the passage and on the steps you had to be carefull how you walk or you... More

Basic accommodation, clean but very cold rooms. We found the staff to be great, friendly and our check in / out was handled well and with ease. The food was fair but very basic, a communal eating hall that is a bit too festive (loud) so we opted to sit in the bar with a fire and eat in more... More

Convenient for Afriski in that it's 10km away and you can book by the night. For Afriski you need to book minimum 4 nights. Having read the other reviews I must agree that it is dated and lacks management. Thankfully we had lots of hot water. Food is not fancy but certainly hearty and filling after a long day on... More

The first and last impression of this lodge is that it seriously lacks management. I suspect they capitalize on the fact that there is a limited amount of accommodation available in the area and one stays there by default. 1) Our room was not ready on arrival and we were only able to check in after 18:00. 2) The staff... Nice and close to Afriski. Great food considering location. Rooms sufficient with plenty of warm Basotho blankets and gas heaters. Lovely spring water. Limited wall plugs in room. Welcoming staff presence limited. Parking area quite small. Cozy bar and pool table area.

We stayed 2-nights at the 'New' Oxbow lodge and it was not new at all. Checking in took forever as it appears the staff has not been trained and it went down hill steadily after that. The rooms are sorely in need of upgrades and they have an unpleasant odor. They are heated by portable gas heaters which leak gas... More

Oxbow is located in The Bhutha Bhuthe region of Lesotho although the business is registered in South Africa. The accommodation is pleasant and the resort well established. Oxbow is not connected to the national electricity grid, so power is cut off at 22:00 this was a bit of a down side as the nights are freezing. Plenty blankets and gas... More
