Arriving at the St. Regis Mauritius is something special. First of all you arrive at the front gate of the property with the St. Regis emblem and already you feel entering in a privileged resort. The checkin lobby is great and you are immediately invited to the Manor where the checkin is finalised.

The property is extremely well maintained and clean. Staff are absolutely top notch and all speak French and English. The size of the property is not too big and you always have the opportunity to be driven by the little buggy if needed.

The room we had was on the ground floor. The room has everything it needs to have from coffee machine (Illy coffee) to bottled water (brownie points for using reusable bottles) and the bathroom amenities are also very nice. The point I particularly liked about the room was the possibility to open the windows (see picture) all the way which gives you the impression to be immersed into the vegetation and have access to the beach. Some points for the property to consider is the upgrade of the TV systems to include Airplay or access to the streaming like Netflix (you are likely to stay on property). Also, some desk light would be welcome but as you can read those are very minor points.

The restaurants are very nice and you can see the efforts to have variety and I particularly like the setting of the Boathouse in front of the sea as well as the Thai restaurant The Floating Market. The Indian restaurant is nice but might be a tiny bit outdated (food is great though). Breakfast in the Manor is tremendous and they make your favourite smoothie on the go! Big plus to start the day.

The Beach is OMG so amazing. The water is just postcard (or should I say Instagram) ready and you have lots of activities you can chose or just chill on the beach. Don't worry the beach boy is just a press of a button away...

Last but absolutely not least, the butler service is a luxury you immediately get used to and is one of the signature features of the St. Regis. In our case, Mme Labonne as well as Gary, were absolutely the best! Mme Labonne was always attentive, brought us our favourite beverage in the morning on the terrace of our room. She was able to unpack and pack our suitcases like no one before... Just for this I would return to the St Regis Mauritius!

All in all a perfect getaway in a wonderful property.

Being a member of the Marriott Bonvoy, we had booked our stay at the Junior Beachfront Suite, St Regis, Mauritius at their special discounted rate. The accommodation was as expected from the Marriot group with spacious rooms, equally spacious bathroom, a huge veranda leading to the beach. The services were excellent except for keeping our cab for the day trip waiting and not informing us of its arrival. The breakfast was as expected in a five-star resort.
The food prices were over the top comparing to any five-star resort, needless to say the ones in Mauritius. If you want a comfortable picturesque stay, St Regis would be your choice. Unless you are an Amir or a Sheikh, better not to venture on their culinary delights, else you might land up with an empty pocket. There are plenty of hotels around with a value for money grub.

The Marriot at Le Morne is in a great location, which beautiful beaches next to the underwater waterfall and with gorgeous mountain views in the backdrop. There's plenty of beach so it always felt quiet and somewhat private. The facilities, as you'd expect from a hotel of this standard are exceptionally good and varied (2 pools, poolside bar, water sports/boating activities, spa, games room, library...the list goes on)

We stayed in a suite, which was a very good size with a balcony overlooking the beach. The amenities in the room are what you'd expect from a 5 star hotel, although this one comes with a luxury colonial-era feel to the rooms, rather than the simplistic modern decor of many hotels. There's plenty of storage space for clothing etc. and a very large bathroom with a lovely bathtub.

The outstanding thing about this place though was the service. We were welcomed warmly by the reception staff, manager and concierge and really made to feel like highly valued guests throughout our stay. The butler service in the suites is excellent and responsive 24/7 (Priya and Ravi were absolutely brilliant and such friendly people). All the staff are friendly and welcoming whenever and wherever you come across them and everyone went the extra mile to make sure we felt relaxed and treated like royalty throughout our stay.

There are a variety of activities to keep you entertained at the resort itself, including a number of complimentary watersports and boat activities. The concierge organised a swimming with dolphins excursion for us which was probably the highlight of our trip and reasonably priced considering it was a private trip and arranged at short notice. We generally found the concierge service to be helpful and responsive whenever we used it.

We ate at the Floating Market (pan-asian), the Boathouse Grill and the Manoir (breakfast) as well as ordering room service and poolside snack. The food at every location was brilliant and it's hard to pick a favourite. If we had to pick though, our experience at the Boathouse Grill was probably the best, not only because the food is great and you are sat on the beach overlooking the ocean at sunset, but also because the service from our waiter was the best we've experienced at any restaurant anywhere in the world. Upon learning it was our honeymoon, he went above and beyond to ensure the last meal of our honeymoon was as perfect as possible.

Cannot fault our stay here at all. Thank you so much for a lovely stay!

This is a great hotel! We were there from 27 Dec into the beginning of January. The hotel was full and was also affected by a cyclone on one day (heavy rain and no swimming). Faced with those challenges, a lesser hotel would have buckled under the strain. The staff at the St. Regis continued smiling and were able to offer their usual service over those two difficult days.

The Le Morne beach is lovely, the five restaurants are all very good, and the rooms are a good size, with very comfortable beds and well equipped bathrooms. The evening entertainment was good but could be better and more varied.

Some of the staff were excellent: special praise for our butlers Pushpanjali and Archie, Nicholas in the Boathouse, and Deli in the spa who is an expert at massages. The gentleman who helped us sabre a champagne bottle was very helpful. Some others of the staff could benefit from some training to be more proactive, as service was sometimes patchy and inattentive. However, if a problem was mentioned, it was always sorted, which is a great start.

Special thanks to the resort manager Dimitrios Kotsifakos. I have rarely if ever seen a hotel manager so present, active, and concerned about each guest. He was constantly in action, while developing contingency plans for the cyclone and always looking out for the welfare of everyone. An excellent head of a very special hotel.

After spending 5 nights in Flic en Flac, the proceeding 5 nights were at the JW Marriott in Le Morne in the South Western corner of Mauritius.

Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed with a healthy mocktail, paper work was quickly processed and arrival antigen test was immediately administered.

Our check-in was overseen by the assistant manager Beniot George, who catered for our every need, making us feel extremely relaxed. We also received a warm welcome from the general manager Dimitris Kotsifakos.

The hotel is absolutely stunning, the location speaks for itself, with Le Morne being the jewel in the paradise of Mauritius. The hotel is located on a quiet sweeping section of white sand within the lagoon created by the reef.

The accommodation is situated in blocks of apartments, set back from the beach, nestled amongst palm trees, all appear to have sea views. The apartments are very spacious and well equipped. Twin wash basins, large shower and a bath tub.

The main hotel building is architecturally stunning, designed in a colonial style, which is adjacent to the main pool. There is a buffet style restaurant, which is also where breakfast is served. Indian and Japanese restaurants and an authentically styled Thai floating market restaurant. Finally there is the boat house restaurant, located on the beach, which serves excellent surf and turf style food.

The gym is equipped with all the latest equipment and has excellent air-conditioning. The spa has an endless amount of treatments on offer. There is also a watersports centre with kayaks, SUP's, pedalos and sailing all included in your stay package.

We honestly could not find fault in anything during our stay. But beyond all the material things I have mentioned above, it is the staff at the hotel that make it so special and are a credit to the JW Marriott group.

Vidishay at the boat house bar provided an excellent service sharing lots of Mauritian cultural information with us.

Tej took care of all out needs on the beach, nothing ever too much trouble, even insisting on polishing my sun glasses most mornings.

Kannen, our room butler for the week, would pop in every day checking that all our requirements were met. Service with a smile, we didn't ask for much, but the peanuts we much appreciated.

Thanks again for a great stay. We are already considering a return trip next year.

We had a fantastic experience staying for 7 nights for our honeymoon. The staff really make the hotel special especially our butler which was a service I never imagined myself using but really grew on me during our stay. The beach service was also excellent to the point that as soon as we looked at some beach chairs they were already being setup for us! The breakfast is amazing and especially the eggs with a special dish every day or just a great omelette. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and comfortable and even suggest or guess needs before we could think of them! The location is also great as it is in a calm spot with both morning and evening sun while being near to the Kiteboarding beach which we even got a lift to from the baggage services staff (greatly appreciated service when carrying many kites and boards!). Finally as we were packing to leave we noticed one of our suitcases had broken during our trip - in under 15min our butler had got someone from maintenance to come and fix it so we could continue our travels! There are countless other examples of the staff going above and beyond but just too many to list. This was truly one of the best places we have ever stayed!

If I had to come up with some improvements the quality of the evening entertainment varied a lot. Also we had some laundry as we had been traveling in Europe prior but the prices for washing it here are clearly meant for single garments and we would almost be better off buying new clothes.

We stays a second time at the St Regis Le Morne and were positively surprised that it got way better within one year. We came back more because of the beach and the Kids club, which my daugther loved.

The new General Manager, Dimitrios Kotsifakos, is doing an amazing job in improving the service quality. Staff is generally super friendly and professionial, in particular the team on the beach, the butlers and at the restaurants.

Only the suites could be updated, they are a bit worn down...

Interestingly, the wine & champagne prices decreased a bit (but are still a bit overpriced compared eg to the One&Only)

We spent one magical week in Mauritius in an unbelievable Resort on the beach with an incredible staff that took very good care of us. From the very attentive and dedicated Kenen at the butler service who surprised us many times with heartful attentions to the super smiling, joyful and service oriented Aroumel at the pool, everyone at the hotel made our stay spécial and one to be remembered.

Food was also something we appreciated with a variety of options for breakfast (special mention to the lady at the eggs station) and nice restaurants for the evening.

The facilities were premium from the pool, to the gym, the spa and Of course the beach areas with a lot of complementary activities (snorkeling, paddle, kayak etc…). Room was very spatious, with a balcony and a view and à large bathroom with both shower and bathtub.

One of our highlight will be for sure the Sunset Celebration on the beach with great scenery and drinks / food.

We’ll be back!

The hotel is situated in an incredibly scenic location on the western beach of the lovely Le Morne peninsula and well shielded from the trade winds (which may be somewhat disturbing on the southern beach of the peninsula).

The hotel offers large yet cozy suites in small villa-style houses. Dishes and drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic as well) are served on a very high quality level. The wifi runs well, bandwidth is high and latency is low. We had no problems whatsoever with our occasional business video conferences.

Staff is always very kind, responsive, and helpful - including a good sense of humour.

Very special thanks from us go to Jean Raymond and his team for making possible a both an unforgettable sabering event (teaching us how to safely open bottles of sparkling wine with a saber) and a beautiful birthday dinner including a table set for us on the beach.

We booked this resort for ten days. The hotel was gorgeous and we felt like we had arrived in paradise. The staff were so friendly and helpful. All the service was excellent. They seemed to remember our names and greeted us every day with a good morning/evening Mr and Mrs G…. We chose a garden villa which was quiet and ideal for us. The butler checked on us each day to see if we needed anything and the housekeeping was very good. Offering a turn down service each evening. The hotel was only about 40% full so we had no problem booking a dining option each day. We dined at four of the restaurants and the food and service was excellent with a wide choice. The pool was huge and we often had it to ourselves. The pool and bar staff were very attentive, bringing towels and drinks and even lending us beach shoes as the broken coral was sharp on the sand. Hansley needs a special mention here.

The evening entertainment on the whole was good and it certainly kept guests drinking in the Boathouse bar and dancing too. On the few nights when there was no singer or band we hardly noticed anyone in the bar.

We asked the hotel to arrange horse riding for us and we rode along the sand and the horses took us through the shallows. At a walking pace I should add.

We had a fabulous wedding anniversary celebration dinner on the jetty. Which was laid out with flowers and a flower strewn red carpet across the sand. We had our own waiter for the evening and felt really spoilt, especially as our three children had arranged and paid for the dinner.

It was a truly unforgettable holiday

Try Google the weather? All over the world it’s up side down so you may have to take a chance. They get cyclones and those come Jan-Mar.

Pizza, pasta 18 USD, club sandwich 20 USD, soft drinks 5 USD. We are not big eaters so just went for a’la carte. Restaurant also available at the Lux Le Morne, next door but that is even more expensive. The public beach is 10 mins away from the hotel, there is a self-service restaurant open for lunch, but mostly fast food and not a very good quality.
