Great service. Extremely happy with the hotel, the service and the food. Will certainly recommend to friends and family. Neha, hena, vicky, deepest and Benoit were awesome. Will be back. The room cleanliness, the amenities and service at restaurants, beach and bar was beyond our expectations
My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary at JW Marriott Mauritius. We stayed 5 nights in October and had the most wonderful time ever! It was our first trip to Mauritius and everything was beyond our expectation. We had a little check-in delay upon arrival but I was very impressed at how the staff at JW Marriott handled the situation. We were very tired after a long overnight flight but they made us felt very well looked after from Day 1. When you are at JW Marriott, we would like to recommend everyone to take full advantage of the water activities (SUP, snorkelling, paddle boat, kayaks) offered in the hotel and definitely hike the Le Morne. It takes around 3 hours up and down (average fitness) but there is some scrambling in the last half an hour to the top so just be mentally & physically prepared. Also, if you play tennis, please try out the court! It has a nice view of the Le Morne and we really enjoyed playing tennis here. Also, rent the bikes from the hotel (complimentary) and cycle around Le Morne. It is very beautiful. It is one of our favourite moments in Mauritius. The four restaurants in the hotel are superb. We loved everything they served us. We loved fresh seafoods and I especially liked the lamb chops at the Floating Market. Appetizers at the Japanese restaurant were delicious as well. We were on a half- board package and there were some menus we had to pay extra (such as lobster) but they don’t cost much. Mauritius is a beautiful island and there’s so much to do. We would definitely love to come back again. Martin and I got engaged in Seychelles last year and went to the Maldives for our Honeymoon but we both agreed that Mauritius has been our favourite beach holiday amongst all and I don’t think I am exaggerating when I say the main reason for this is because of our impeccable experience at JW Marriott Mauritius. A big thank you to Riad, our butler for taking care of every single detail from dinner reservations to helping us get the best Mauritian souvenirs! Riad, you are a superstar and we couldn’t have asked for a better butler. Thank you so much for your great service. Special shout out to other staff members including Jimmy (F&B manager), Rakesh (Reservations manager) Jottie at reception, Ali (Sou chef), Kolly from the bar, Smitesh from the restaurants and Jean, who helped my husband with his first sabrage! You guys made our trip so much more fun and memorable. We really enjoyed talking to the staff and how they really made us smile no matter where we were. Whenever they see us they would greet and ask “How can I help you?” Last but not least, we would like to extend our thanks to Dimitros Kotsifakos, the Resort Manager for having such a wonderful team. We always saw him walking around mornings and nights greeting every single guest. You can really feel that all of the staff members really care for your well being and happiness during your stay. Thank you once again for making our wedding anniversary such an unforgettable one. It’s been one of our best trips so far. Hope to see you again in near future!…
JW Marriott at Mauritius was really great, we had 2 ocean balcony suits and the accomodation was perfect, everything we need was there. Our buttlers (Vyay and Minta) were the best, whatever we need, they fulfilled our wishes. Every services everywhere in the hotel ( at restaurants, at the beach, at the reception, cleaning staff) everybody were hreat, really nice and helpful. We fully enjoyed our stay here and really hope we will come back again in the future. For our boys they prepared a birthday celebration and boys were happy and excited. For us it was great choose and the best adress at the island. Thank you for everything!
We arrived to the J.W. Marriott from Flic En Flac after an OK week at a local resort. Wow were we impressed upon our arrival! This resort is stunning. The original room we booked - Jr. Suite Ocean Access - was not available but they offered us two different upgrades to choose from and we chose the Ocean View Grand Suite - Room 535. This room is stunning and large. Right on the beach with two sliding glass walls that we would open each morning. As June is their Winter, the temperatures were 25c-27c, no humidity, dry with sunshine - just perfect! Upon arrival to our room, our butler - Garry Beersingh - introduced himself. Garry was available throughout our stay and coordinated dinner reservations and anything else to make our stay perfect. A big shout-out to Garry who also arranged a 6 hour late check out without us asking when he found out we had an evening flight on the day of departure. The resort has 5 different restaurants with the Floating Market being the best. All the food at the resort was good but the Vietnamese/Thai dishes at the Floating Market restaurant were excellent. Also a special thank you to Atma - the evening bartender at the main bar. A 10 year employee of the resort who made us so welcomed each evening. The employees at the J.W. Marriott Mauritius are really what made our stay so special - no matter what restaurant we dined in or who we met during our walks through the resort, the staff made it a point to recognize us by name and always acknowledged you with a hello, good morning or good evening. If they encountered you the day before or earlier that same day, they made it a point to inquire how your day went. Their attention to detail, training and genuine interest in you as a guest is amazing! The one thing you notice while at the resort is the level of management involvement with the staff and guests. No matter if it is the early morning or late at night, the managers are onsite and insuring everything is running smoothly - General Manager Dimitrios and Executive Assistant Manager Benoit - are to be commended for the level of staff training, service and how well this resort is run. The Mauritius people are so friendly and engaging that I am sure they will both say that it is Mauritius that makes this resort special. My wife and I were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary on Mauritius and we are so fortunate that we chose the J.W. Marriott as the resort to stay at. It was a trip that we will not forget! Thank you to everyone at the J.W. Marriott Mauritius!…
I read all the reviews and saw loads of references to the staff. Honestly thought as a person who travelled a lot that is was a general politeness … but how wrong was I!?! The team here are simply amazing. I mean a real service with just pleasant, personal and professional staff at every turn. Our family were made to feel like royalty … and I don’t throw that compliment around lightly. We felt like VIPs all week and we will genuinely miss the team here. From the pool staff, to the bar and restaurant staff .. simply superb. We were greeted by name and all the management team introduced themselves without being intrusive. If you’re debating paying a few dollars with the family for a truly brilliant experience .. then relax. The JW Marriott Mauritius is an unique spot .. one place I, and the family will hold long in the memory. Good for the soul and a huge thank you to all for making it a memorable experience.…
Awesomeness redefined! I highly recommend JW Marriott Mauritius Resort. Simply put it's spectacular, amazing & beautiful on all fronts. We loved every bit of our stay & for sure we will be back there in the near future. A big thank you to the entire JW Marriott Mauritius team for the awesome & professional service ~ You Guys Rock! Special mention to Vicky, Vijay, Miita & the boathouse crew (Rao, Alvini, Imraj & Sajeet) for going above & beyond. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS My wife and I stayed 11 nights at JW Marriott Mauritius at the beginning of June. The property and service exceeded our expectations. We would definitely return. SUITE - We stayed in an Ocean View Suite which, whilst set back a little from the beachfront, had a large private balcony with pretty palms in front and was only steps from the beach which allowed us to return periodically during the day. The décor has a somewhat colonial feel in natural tones with an impressive vaulted wood ceiling. The bed was extremely comfortable. There was plenty of storage in the dressing area. The huge bathroom was luxurious with an enormous egg shaped soaker tub, separate shower and twin brass sinks. Housekeeping took care of every detail with the butler service on hand for anything else we needed. Thank you to Fabian and Vijay. BEACH - The huge stretch of beach overlooked by the impressive Le Morne Brabant is beautiful and the sunsets stunning. The complimentary sports activities are an added bonus. Pedalos, kayak, water ski, snorkelling, SUP are all easy to reserve through the great guys at the beach centre. Special thanks to manager Jean Paul and my patient ski instructor Emanuel. There are plenty of sun loungers and the team is always on hand to make sure you don’t want for anything. Thank you to Vicky, Hansley (and Armoula from The Boathouse) who made our lazy beach days so comfortable from offering to clean our sunglasses to bringing us refreshing fruit skewers. Hansley surprised us with a lovely Bon Voyage message in the sand on our last day. ACTIVITIES - One evening after a very enjoyable Management Cocktail, we were invited to join an inaugural stargazing activity on the beach which JW Marriott Mauritius is piloting. Hosted by local astronomer Bhasker Desai, it was a fascinating and educational experience and the associates made us feel most welcome. Thank you to whole management team. MEALS - We stayed on BB basis. The breakfasts were consistently excellent and organised and the staff members couldn’t have looked after us more. Thank you to Vandana, Manisha, Schem, Nandisha, Ashlen, Vidusha , Istika and the omelet station headed by Souaj. We couldn’t resist the delicious almond crusted croissants. One evening Chef Gerard prepared us a special Mauritian meal at Le Manoir. Needless to say it was delicious, particularly the duck. We also tried the salmon poke bowls which were delivered as a fantastic lunchbox on the beach (see pic). Beautiful presentation. In conclusion, a beautiful property close to many Mauritian attractions but it is the outstanding service which we will remember most. The staff members really made our stay what it was. A big thank you to the General Manager Dimitrios and the whole JW Marriott Mauritius team. We look forward to seeing you again soon!…
We’re currently at this fabulous resort and I cannot recommend this destination highly enough. It’s an amazing location at the foot of Le Morne mountain on a peninsula with beautiful views across the Indian Ocean. The staff are truly exceptional in their performance of every role that you come in to contact with them. Each of the five restaurants on site offer fine food to cater for all tastes and are superbly designed to underpin the guests experience. Today, my wife and I attended the hotel spa and received care and attention to a level that was exceptional. Pravesh and Ayesha looked after us respectively. A massage was a first for me as I thought this was a pastime for ladies only, how wrong was I! So pleased that Pravesh took the time to wander along the beach and discuss the Spa offering and that I’d agreed to go along as well. If your considering this Hotel, honestly: book it. Again: Exceptional!…
Great location. Beautiful colonial style hotel with beaches, water activities, tennis court, kids club, spa, and multiple restaurants. We were welcomed with a delicious welcome drink and check-in was done to our convenience. Special thanks to Mr George for making our stay more special. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, went above and beyond to keep us satisfied and catered to our every need. You get a butler that helps you with anything you might need. Special thanks to Vijay for helping us plan our tour of the South. My wife and I came to spend our wedding anniversary here and we left happy. Definitely coming back with our kids next time as i’m sure they will enjoy it just as we did.
We finally arrived at our honeymoon after 2.5 years of planning and Covid-related postponements, and it was gorgeous from the moment we arrived! The reception at the reception was extremely friendly, we were allowed to move into our suite in the morning. The suite was even more beautiful than in the photos, very spacious and extremely clean. Our next way went to the beach, from now on it was only paradise. A white sandy beach, with an incredible amount of space, the beach bar with incredibly friendly and always courteous staff. Here we would like to highlight Rikish, Hansley, Didier, Emanuel, Raj and David, they made our beach days unforgettable. The bouquet of flowers to say goodbye brought tears to our eyes. The one who was always more than helpful was Kanen, our butler. Whether we wanted to book a restaurant, a car or sports activities, he did everything immediately and to our complete satisfaction, a WhatsApp was enough. Even his surprises, like the bubble bath or the cake for my birthday - he knew how to make every day something very special for us. All five restaurants are highly recommended, however we would like to highlight the Boathouse, the Floating Market and the Manoir, in the latter I was even given the recipes for the traditional Mauritian dishes, which were incredibly delicious. The servers and restaurant manager Shailesh were an absolute dream, they knew our names from day one and always knew where we would like to sit. We will return for sure!…
