We have just returned from 2 weeks at this amazing hotel and we really can not recommend it enough. We had so many delays actually getting there due to covid ( we should have originally gone in June 2020) but the wait was so worth it. We also renewed over vows to celebrate 22 years of marriage while we were there (which should have been 20 years if we had gone in 2020!) and we can not praise the wedding coordinator Sneha enough, she was so helpful and planned everything we wanted perfectly. A big shout out to some staff in particular, Yesheven, Daryl, Kishin, Sammi, Mozahir and Anoop and a few we just never caught the names of sadly, who all went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and catered for at all times. However, all the staff were excellent and ensured we were happy, there was always a smiley face and a hello as they passed by and nothing was too much trouble. The pool barmen always made sure we had a drink in hand and remembered what our drinks of choice were and even suprised us with a few different drinks we hadn't asked for when they were passing by. The cocktails are amazing, and I think my husband had tried every cocktail on the menu by the end of the fornight! The hotel is kept clean and tidy and rooms are serviced daily with an additional tidy around of an evening so it is nice and freshened when you return from dinner. The gardens are just beautiful and it is lovely to just walk around them. We stayed in the adult only executive suites facing the ocean and the view was incredible to wake up to every morning. The sunsets really are something else and every evening we were delighted with a colourful array across the skies. The food is outstanding in all the restaurants but we especially liked the Bistrot and Madame Ming in the evenings and we loved 'O' at lunchtime. The main buffet area has a wide variety of choice for breakfast, lunch and evening meal the only thing you need to watch for is incoming birds pecking at your meal at breakfast and lunch so make sure you use your napkin to cover it if you leave the table for any reason otherwise it will be devoured. The hotel is pretty much an open aspect so wildlife can just fly through, but on the flip side being open adds to the beauty of the place. The only small gripe I had were the stray dogs wandering around the hotel freely. I myself am not a dog fan so found this a little bit of a nuisance. However, the dogs do know who they can and can't approach based on who pays them attention and who doesn't. We never paid them attention and they almost seemed to know this and never bothered us, whereas the guests that did pay attention to them and fed them things the dogs were almost sniffing them out everyday and following them around. But don't let this put you off, staff do shoo them away and they are not allowed to sit on the outdoor furniture etc but it is our understanding the hotel do provide these dogs with some food too and it does seem common across Mauritius that there are many stray dogs. The beach is small and not the idylic Mauritius beach you would expect to see due to the river which is situated next to the hotel, but it served its purpose and was beautiful non the less. We took a walk to Balaclava beach which was about a 15 minute walk up the road, which is more the beach you would expect with white sand and clear blue sea, and we also took a taxi to Troux Aux Biches which was beautiful white sands and perfect clear blue sea. We also did a Catamaran cruise which was amazing. I am not one for boats really but I am so glad we did this. As part of the cruise it took us to an absolutley beautiful beach at Ile Aux Cerfs. This beach was just dreamy and is well worth a visit if you want this kind of beach setting. We also had a private tour of the Botanical Gardens, the Sugar Museum, where we had sugar and Rum tasting, along with visiting the Odysseo which is Mauritius new oceanarium and in to Port Louis where we did a bit of shopping and sight seeing. This tour consitited of all the things that were on our absolute must see's during our holiday and we were so pleased one trip covered everything. We would absolutley recommend Ravenala to anyone and we will return one day when we have visited other places/countries first. Thank you Ravenala for making our long awaited trip so wonderful and exceeding every expectation we had, and a holiday that we will never forget for so many reasons.…
Really excellent service, awesome staff very helpful and amazing service .at the restaurant tavlova .mr. Bruno showed much attention to details and we were charmingly greeted, service was impeccable and soo delicious dish. For the room reservation we asked for a couple suite, was given a familly suite(with a cheeky magnetic lock). Yet staff, the service ,animations and the general stay was pure magic and delightful. Bruno a un œil pour les détails et pour mettre les clients à l'aise. Merci pour tous Monsieur et on y reviendra bien sûre.

Kot Nou Just wanted to say the best night in this fantastic restaurant at Ravanela Attitude. Food, staff and Funky Parrot lychee wine - AMAZING. Mauritian tapas - an brilliant concept. Wonderfully relaxing surroundings right next to the beach. Best night of our holiday so far
After a strange start (athletes taking over hotel) we had a lovely relaxing holiday. Staff were amazing and worked very hard. All the restaurants were good but we particularly liked Madam Mings, Line & the Rivera. Lunch was usually at Tab J fab wee caravans lovely staff. My new favourite was iced coffee with ice cream on top thanks to the pool bar waiter, in the morning then the endless drinks supplied by the beach bar waiters Rohan and Khasime. Nothing was a bother to anyone.
Best two weeks ever! Arrival: From the moment we arrived at the Ravenala on the 12th of June the staff were so friendly and helpful. We were given a refreshment drink then taken for the covid test, which was a easy process and very quick. Room: We arrived at our room 3212 and it was exceptional very big. We had booked the adults only executive sea view and would highly recommend these rooms. The cleaners came twice a day and done a really good job, always making sure they spoke every time they saw anyone. Food: They don't use menus here it's all done by a QR code on your phone which is really easy to use. We tried most of the restaurants, make sure you book in advance as they do get full. Our favourite was Madam Ming the food was so delicious and top service came from Sachin, his manner and professionalism is perfect. We also really liked the bristrot, we had a special evening there with a table outside. It was a nice touch, Sunny was a wonderful waiter and full of knowledge, we needed some advice on the different beaches and he was very helpful. Another that we continued to go back to was the beach bbq, you get a mini bbq and cook your own meat, everything else is prepared by the chef but its lovely, especially on the beach. On our last evening we had a extra special evening and our table was literally on the beach by the water, it was very special and definitely made our last night memorable. Our waiter Avishek deserves to be mentioned as his service stood out to us to! Day time Entertainment staff: There is a daily programme of things you can do and it changes slightly each day. We did water polo, volleyball and kayak racing with Alvino and Christophe these guys are very funny. Also Kevin he's a great guy took us to the river fishing with the traditional bamboo fishing rods. All 3 of these guys are really interactive and make the days even more enjoyable! Water Sports: Unfortunately I didn't manage to get anyones names however everyone was very helpful and the free included water sports is great! Especially the snorkelling we really enjoyed that. Trips: If you need any information on what trips you can do then Raj is the man to see. He walks up and down the beach everyday in a purple t shirt. The first trip we done was swimming with the turtles this was 5000 rupees for just the two of us but if there is more of you it's cheaper, as you pay for the boat and lot per person, you travel about 10 minutes around to troauxbiches beach and it is a wonderful experience. The second trip we did was Deep sea fishing as we are into fishing. It cost us 15000 rupees. Unfortunately it was not how we expected it to be, it was us and three crew members who didn't really speak to us much at all. You don't actually get to do hardly any fishing the crew put the rods out and hold them, then when there is a fish on they call you to come forward and reel the fish in. We had three nice sized yellow fin tuna which was cool. It just didn't seem worth the amount of money we had paid as we spent most of the trip just sat at the front of the boat looking out to sea. Whilst feeling disappointed suddenly we saw a whale right next to the boat, then there was another five, we did get right up close to them and it was really special they were huge and we got some great photos and videos. This kind of made up for the disappointment we was feeling. We met another couple and hired mopeds for two days, the first day we went to the capital port lois to the waterfront and it had some nice little stalls. Then we travelled to flic en Flac beach then back to troauxbiches which was my favourite. The roads are easy out there however be careful in rush hour times near the city as it was crazy. On our second day on the mopeds we went back to troauxbiches beach which is 15 mins away and we did swim the turtles again with a guy called Michael which the watersport guys at the hotel rang up to tell him we was coming. It cost just 400 rupees each for the four of us. We also visited mont choisy beach which is lovely, these beaches are the proper white sand crystal clear blue waters. Our final trip we did the catamaran trip which cost us 4000 rupees for both of us, this includes food and drink. We went to flat island, it's lovely there. We were not to worried about paying to see dolphins but was lucky enough to see them after being on the boat for about 15 minutes. It was a very enjoyable day with Alex, he was a great guy my partner even gave him his sunglasses as a thanks. At the hotel you can go for walks on both sides of the beaches on the left you can walk up to a waterfall and see a mini farm (speak to the watersports guys) then on the right side along the rocks, continue up the slope is a walk to the beach takes about 5 mins. Pool guys: Mozahir and Yeshven, these two really made our holiday great. They keep your drinks flowing all day, you don't have to get up and ask because before you know it a new one has arrived. They remember exactly what your drinking and they even bring something new for you to try. They are both great guys and spent time to talk with us and we're very entertaining together. Great team! All hotel staff are extremely friendly everyone says hello. Nothing is to much for anyone they are all very helpful. Negative: We only really have one thing that we would moan about which was the evening entertainment it was poor. It's basically live music every evening. A couple of evenings there may be a little show but it only lasts half an hour then you get live music or Dj music.…
We visited Madame Ming twice in one week. We love the food and most importantly - Thanks a lot to the great team Sachin/Sami/Virginie for the fantastic & attentive service. You have made us smile :-) Hopefully we will visit again.
