The hotel was clean, but very dated. The rooms were a bit musty, but got better after we ran the AC for a while and left the windows open. The breakfast was one of the best I've ever had at a hotel like this and the proprietor, Wendy, was very pleasant.

Annual event featuring a pig roast. Several German specialty dishes prepared in honor of the pig. This is an efficient production with excellent food and service. From soup to desert all included in the price. Highly recommended.

We just checked out today. While the place is dated, the place is cozy, quiet and the beds were comfortable. We had many hiking trails to visit within easy walking distance to enjoy several natural waterfalls. The water was sparse as they must have had a dry end of their summer but the trails were well maintained and beautiful. Wendy and her staff were very friendly and we felt good about supporting a local family run business. Wendy was very accommodating and opened the Brauhaus early for us in order to watch a football game. The food was very good and authentic German. This is a great getaway resort to visit

I've stayed here twice so far and very much enjoy it. The hotel is family owned and operated and one of the owners is a cook who delivers guests excellent meals, as much as one wants. He even makes the homemade desserts! They often have German themed happenings on the weekends throughout the summer and fall, and my wife and I very much enjoyed their New Years Eve extravaganza last year. While it's true that the hotel is dated, it's part the "gemachlichkeit" (coziness) that is rarely found in the cookie cutter hotels that dominate today. I very much recommend it to anyone looking for a family friendly and wholesome weekend away complete with good food, live music, and dancing.

We stopped in here last year and had a good time. This year, we booked a room to extend the stay and enjoy a weekend in Germany (in New York.) We had a great time, met other interesting couples at our table, the food & drink were authentic German. We will be back and do it again.
