Lake was larger than we expected and the forest areas are very beautiful. Lots of awesome trails around for hiking. Campground is well maintained with several bathhouses, beach, picnic area, and playground. Staff were super nice, sites are wooded and fairly private, some are along the lake. No hook ups but plenty of water spigots, some sites can accomodate RVs...

Nick's lake is by far our favorite campground in the Adirondacks. Most sites are spaced so that you have good privacy and if your lucky enough to snag one on the water, you'll be in heaven! The bath houses are well equipped and kept in good condition and there are plenty so you don't have to go very far. There...

We camped there with our grandchildren. It is a very woodsy campground but we loved that. The staff were very nice and friendly. We would recommend it to those who enjoy camping with no facilities and having sites a bit apart.

We stayed at Nick's Lake for four nights. We stayed in Loop D - rustic bathroom and no showers. Next year we'll choose a loop with better facilities. Other than that, we had a great experience. We spent an afternoon kayaking on the lake and another day hiking nearby trails. When it rained, we visited the many shops nearby. I...

The sites are large and wooded. We rented a canoe one day to paddle around the lake. The canoe was at the beach area waiting for use and the company was at our campsite bright and early to deliver the paddles and life jackets. The bathrooms have showers that are well kept. The other campers were friendly and quiet. We...

This campground has nice, clean, non-electric sites. It is on a lake where you can use non-motored boats. You can bring your own, or they have rentals. There is also a small beach (not open yet when we were there). Bathrooms were decent, at least on loop E.

Stayed in loop D. Waterside. There's a good little hillside you need to climb down to put in your canoe or kayak but it's not impossible. Good sized sites. No showers in D loop but plenty elsewhere. Ice available. One bathroom per loop. Firewood easy to get between the village and Bisby Rd.

Stayed here 2 nights to check out paddlefest. Nicely maintained, with an extremely friendly and helpful staff, the lake is clean, scenic and motorless. There is a spacious swimming beach / picnic area / playground / canoe rental and the sites are reasonably spaced and nicely wooded. Hiking trails interconnect with others in the area. Lots of amenities in Old...

My husband and I decided for our honeymoon we would camp throughout the adirondacks. We started in the northern region and worked our way down staying at different places for 3-4 nights at a time. On our way home driving through Old Forge we decided to stay one more night at Nicks Lake. Or 19 foot travel trailer fit nicely...

We spent a recent (mid Sept 2014) Friday to Sunday here and it was great. I had read that loop E was the nicest but it was full except for a tiny spot with not much privacy so we opted for B loop, site 30. That site was very large, private, and there was only one other camper in the...

“Loop E has the best campsites with access to the lake. If you have a RV, you may want to call and speak to the ranger since the campsites differ in size. We had a relatively small plot, but fortunately were only staying in a tent.”
