Visited the self catering stable cottage at Ballinkeele House for a 2 night stay in July and wished we had stayed for longer. The stable cottage is located a short distance from the main house and has everything you could possibly need for self catering. There is an extremely well stocked kitchen diner on the ground floor with a separate...

We stayed in the stable cottage recently and could not have been more impressed. It's a charming property located just a stone's throw from Ballinkeele house- spotless, spacious and well appointed with its own private garden. Our host, Laura, is one in a million. She went above and beyond to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. We're so grateful for...

We had the opportunity to stay overnight in this glorious house before embarking on our driving tour of Ireland. The picturesque drive from Dublin Airport to Ballinkeele was a great start to a lovely stay. Val, Laura and family were there to greet us and show us their house. Grand bedroom, king size bed with superb linens and a beautiful...

We recently stayed in this beautiful house for one night. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome. Val and Laura are fantastic hosts, nothing was too much have trouble for them. The room was large, comfortable and well appointed. We had a light supper in the library as we didn't want to venture out. The best soup I have...

We had a terrific weekend in Ballinkeele to celebrate a significant family birthday. We were welcomed to the house by proprietors Laura and Val and had a guided tour of the historic house which has been lovingly maintained and restored. The bedrooms are attractive and comfortable but it is the overall atmosphere of the house which is the star. Also,...

We stayed for a night in April at the end of our trip. The private house is about 20 minutes outside Wexford and in a huge private park area. You hear no noise which is stunning and such a nice treat to the hassle of hotels in a city. Laura is a fantastic host who shows you around that fantastic...

Val & Laura opened the house especially for us and made our stay extraordinarily memorable. The house has been very sympathetically maintained giving it all the grace of the past and all the comfort of today. This included tremendous, imaginative cooking. There was nothing that was too much trouble including very attentive help for one of the party who was...

Visited on a wet January weekend. Beautiful house with interesting history. Wonderful artefacts everywhere. Even if you have zero interest in furniture, paintings etc, this house has an amazing wow factor. Laura and Val are warm and welcoming. The vibe is informal without being casual. Walk the grounds, some of which are under crop, and see the lovely outhouses. Do...

Family run spectacular Irish house. Altogether warm and welcoming. Spent two nights playing games by the fire and "honesty bar" Hook Lighthouse was a great day trip not too far away Would definitely return even if only for the breakfast!

I was treated like a member of the family, nothing was too much bother for the husband and wife team running the House. The communal rooms were excellent, the bedroom spacious, the dining room beautifully appointed and the food excellent. That the hotel has an honesty bar emphasises the 'family' attitude throughout.
