We stayed four nights at the hotel. Their staffs were professional and freindly. They were really hospitable. This hotel is a small hotel but very beautiful. Our suite room was really clean. It located close to the main square. It's very good option for those want to have a romantic accommodation.
The hotel is a bit away from the “action” of Fira and Firostefani and thus it’s a place where I slept well and relaxed after the day’s hikes and exploring. The studio was comfy and offered a kitchenette with fridge, kettle, a coffeemaker, a toaster, a sink, hairdryer, air con. The furniture and interior design is a bit old-fashioned (dark wood) but well-kept and tidy as well as clean. The host was very welcoming and provided help & information upon arrival. There are plenty of restaurants and mini markets in the neighbourhood and it’s a 10-15min walk to the bus station and centre of Fira as well as to the caldera views. I could leave my luggage upon checkout and still use the sunbeds by the pool.
Absolute amazing place to stay. Ticked all the boxes. From first arrival reception made sure we knew exactly where to go for things and have recommendations. From there he took us to our villa which was in the other building but it it sublime. Bottom floor a spotless living area and an upstairs with a a great bed. And to top things off the hot tub on the balcony. Yes there is a steep hill to make your way into the center but you get lovely views when taking the stroll. Great location for peace and quiet would highly recommend
We were in a separate building, which we expected. The room was functional and cleaned everyday which was nice. The staff were friendly too. The hotel is located down a steep hill, so keep that in mind if you have mobility problems. The pool is not as well kept as it looked in the pictures, and being in a separate building we didn’t end up using it anyway. We were woken up a few times at 3am and 6am by people loudly revving quadbikes and shouting at each other outside our room. This was not ideal and would be quieter in a room in the main building. Overall the hotel was great for the price we paid but nothing special if you’re in the separate building.
Had a really lovely stay at Galatia Villas. Staff were so accommodating, easy process booking and communicating with them before arrival. They arranged a transfer from the airport and to the port,€10 per person which is about the standard rate for Santorini. Very well located place, 10 minute walk into Fira town, mini mart near by and nice views. We had a room for 3 people, it was a little tight for space but they had made us aware of that before booking which was nice. The room itself was clean, air conditioned and we had the luxury of the jacuzzi on the balance next to us. The shower was powerful, albeit very small but couldn’t complain. Would definitely come back again, such good value for money.
Unfortunately, although I had a lovely trip to Santorini my dealing with Galatia Villas via Agoda has been a real nightmare. To explain - it became apparent to me after booking that Galatia would not be suitable for me as I suffer from M.E. and have trouble with lots of stairs. There is nothing to say about this accommodation not being suitable for disabled people on their Agoda listing, I only chanced upon the information while reading a Trip Advisor review which stated the hotel is set atop a steep set of steps. So, I went ahead and cancelled the booking. It was within the free cancellation period at this point so I thought no more of it. When I went to check my credit card statement some weeks later I had been billed for the stay, even though I am absolutely positive that it was cancelled due to the aforementioned issue. I have spoken with Agoda at great lengths who have been nothing short of despicable and happily ignore emails, requests for formal complaints etc and say that Galatia Villas refuses to refund me. It’s my belief that there was some kind of glitch in Agoda’s system, as I have another glitch on my account regarding another cancelled booking. The hotel said I could change the dates of the booking to perhaps help but then never replied to emails to do this and so the time for the booking came and went and I have been charged full price for a booking they full well knew I could not use. Anyway, this was back in October. I have now been trying to claim the funds back via American Express for several weeks. I’m really saddened that a great trip has been sullied by this horrible experience with Galatia Villas. If you are disabled do not even think about booking with Galatia. I tried contacting Galatia directly, but they never responded to my email.…
Stayed here at the end of August to the start of September 2020. Beyond impressed with this place. We had a two-story apartment with a hot tub on the balcony and it was beyond everything I had imagined. The place was super clean and had everything you needed- especially great AC! All of the workers here were super lovely too and always made the effort to go the extra mile. Would 100% recommend staying here.
We stayed here for a overnight stop, before a ferry crossing to Naxos. Situated in the centre of Fira, our room had everything and more we expected. Fully modernised, when you walked in, a living area with sofa, fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Bathroom with a powerful shower. Upstairs in the bedroom, a large bed, sofa, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, with safe in room. On the balcony, a jacuzzi, with table and chairs. All at no extra charge. Peaceful location. I was sorry we were only here for one night. Would definitely book again.
We couldn't have chosen better. Great value for money, located in the center of Fira, only 10 minutes walk to get to the main square. Room was comfortable and cozy. Staff was very friendly and helpful! We had our room clean every day which was a plus. Unfortunately there is no breakfast but there are several mini markets on the way to the hotel and also a nearby bakery. We also had a Jacuzzi next to our room. The area was also very quiet. Easy accessibility to get there.
The staff were polite and friendly. The room was dark and more lighting is definitely needed. We got twin beds instead of one double which we had asked for. About a 7 min walk to Fira and the caldera. The pool looks nice but there are only 4 sun beds and it’s much smaller in real life. You pay for what you get though and is good for anybody in Santorini on a budget.
