We went to Greece for our honeymoon and stayed in several hotels some a lot smarter than Melina. The service and the personal touch at this hotel is really great and better than any other hotel we stayed in. You are not just a number like in other hotels. We were welcomed with a drink and nice panacotta. Yannis, gave...

My rating of 5 has to do with the fact that the hotel exceeded my expectations. When the Melina Hotel was recommended by a travel agent who had never seen it, at its low price, I never expected such a pleasurable experience. The hotel was off the main road and away from the Caldera, so it was quiet, but not...

We had a lovely time staying at the Melina Hotel. It is a small, family-run hotel but with friendly and attentive service. Yannis, the owner, gave us some tips on where to eat, sightseeing, etc. and was readily available to assist with queries. The hotel was spotless and the room spacious with a balcony. Although the shower was a bit...

My husband and I stayed at Melina in September 2012. The staff are really friendly and the pool and other facilities very clean and neat. The location of this hotel was great but two things were really poor. Firstly the breakfast was terrible, 4 days of toasted ham and cheese sandwiches and 6 slices of toast with a hard boiled...

My husband and I stayed in this smallish family run hotel for 4 nights in September. I was a bit tentative about staying there due to the fact that i had read some unfavourable reviews about it earlier. What we found was a beautifully maintained hotel (not 5 star by any means) with owners who were very pleasant and friendly...

My husband and I stayed in Melina Hotel for 3 nights end of September and we were pleasantly surprised. It is a smallish, family run hotel, situated within walking distance of Fira, but in a quiet street. Yannis, the hotel manager, was extremely helpful and friendly. He gave us a map of the island and of Fira and recommended where...

The rooms are very clean and the staff are nice The unusual thing is that the reception stays till 10:30 pm only Another unusual thing is breakfast. It not like a buffet but you take a seat and they serve you which I personally didn't like because I prefer to choose what I want to have for breakfast It is...

Melina hotel is perfect place to stay if you want to avoid noisy night life in Fira. Just 5-10 mins walking to the city centre and caldera. Main bus station is less then 5 mins away (from there you can take buses to all other places on island). I had a feeling that I am staying in someones lovely home...

My friend and I were moved to the Melina Hotel after arriving at King Thiras (booked by a travel agent), which did not have a pool and was up an impossibly steep hill. The staff at Melina were friendly and helpful, the location only a few minutes walk across a car park to the town and the rooms clean and...
