We were a party of 3,,wife, me and the father-in-law. Separate rooms. The father-in-law has mobility issues. After showing us our rooms we knew there was zero chance the room would work for our Father-inLaw. The manager said he would try and negotiate with someone who had a level room. A room with everything on the same floor. He did to our amazement and my father-in-law had ta new room and that just was the beginning of THE BEST customer service we have experienced in any hotel ever!!!! Our room was spectacular. Huge garden,,private pool,,very comfortable bed and an awesome shower/bath accommodations. On to our infinity pool experience and that view was breathtaking. Bonus for some refreshing cocktails!!! If I had to pick the highlight it was the morning breakfast. The girl who was helping us every morning named Johanna was spectacular and we were in love with her!!!,,lol The food was delicious and the choices were plentiful!!! In closing from start to finish we loved this hotel and loved the staff even more!!!…
The hotel staff was extremely accommodating, courteous and always served customers with a smile .. they made every effort to make our stay at Santorini memorable. Special thanks to hotel assistant manager, front desk manager, breakfast staff, front desk staff, bell boy and room service crew.
The Katikies Garden hotel was amazing place to go on our honeymoon. The staff were incredible from start to finish and couldn't do enough for you. Being a converted monastery , the scenery for breakfast really just sets the tone for the day of relaxation. Location is great, very central. We had a private whirlpool which was situated on the roof adjacent 3 other pools, some may feel it's an issue but it was nice as you could leave the pool area and have your own space with great views.
Spent six nights here in a Master Pool Suite at a cost of nine hundred euro per night. Our room was not really as described, smallish bedroom, no separate living area and bathroom and wardrobes downstairs, a treacherous stairs . Luckily we are fairly fit so we overcame the situation. We did have a garden with pool but I would advise you not to get this room. While breakfast was good, service was very poor. Constantly asking for simple things, salt , serviette, milk , and on and on . We often asked three different people, to no avail. Indeed one morning I simply walked out it was so bad . I didn’t like to see restaurant staff been given out to by senior staff, well one senior staff member in particular berated the young staff, in front of guests. Our room was rarely serviced during the day, evening turndown was always done however. We came back to hotel late one night, after a wedding, barely any toilet paper in toilet. We had room service twice , excellent service there and excellent food. We ate in our garden, the dirty dishes and cutlery were left till the following evening to be removed. Pool area beautiful, with excellent service. Bar service excellent We didn’t eat in the restaurant, probably a mistake but I feared service would be like breakfast. We were told there are five Katikies hotels in Santorini, we were lucky we got to the right one the first night. It was extremely difficult to get a taxi from hotel and involved a lot of walking. It’s really important to know the amount of steps and stairs will make it almost impossible for a guest with the slightest mobility issues. Our experience here doesn’t fit with other peoples reviews, I would advise read all reviews very carefully, make sure you get the room you payed for and hopefully you will enjoy it more than we did .…
We were transferred to this hotel from a different one on the island which was not ready for us, we were lucky enough to spend 6 days here and it is beautiful. We had a large room with private garden and pool which was serviced well each day. The pool area is stunning with amazing views, very very relaxed atmosphere there and perfect for getting stuck into a good book. The staff were all lovely too, but onto the best bit. the FOOD! Breakfast was an epic experience every single morning, the pastry basket and the board with cheese, ham and little pie, its just fabulous, then they give you a lovely menu to choose your actual breakfast from which was exquisite, accompanied by a never ending refill of water, fresh orange juice, tea and coffee! The food at the pool was also very nice, we had a light lunch on two occasions, the sandwiches and salads were our favourites but the burger was good too! We also did eat in Solene, we have eaten at a high number of rosette and Michelin restaurants as my husband is a head chef proudly having rosettes himself, this wasn't our favourite one we have had but it was still a lovely evening. Downside was that we had to ask for menus, and the wine waiter was pushy and wouldn't just accept the wine we had chosen, we had to tell him 3 times which wine we wanted, eventually he stopped trying to sell us 600 euro ones and accept our choice. They kindly sorted our transport to various trips we had booked and onto our next hotel. This hotel is also in great location, walking distance to where the main area of Thira. Would highly recommend this hotel! Thank you for looking after us on our wondeful honeymoon…
The converted monastery is absolutely stunning. The Infinity pool has an incredible view of the surrounding area. The courtyard was exceptional along with the extensive breakfast menu. The staff was delightful and very helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
This sprawling converted monastery offers a unique experience unlike any other hotel experience I’ve had . Our room was amazing. We booked a junior suite and it was luxurious and huge with an incredible bathroom and shower room and a beautifully comfortable bed. Because this is a converted monastery rooms can vary and we asked to be moved from our original room which was practically underground . However this wasn’t a problem and the staff who are amazing moved us with absolutely no fuss at all. We ended up looking over the courtyard which was lovely . The courtyard is where breakfast is served each morning and it’s amazing a beautiful menu , with cooked dishes , fresh fruits and yoghurts really sets the day up. The courtyard also hosts the renowned Selene restaurant in the evening. However the hotel does have certain challenges, because it’s a unique building there are steps and stairs everywhere so a certain level of mobility and fitness is required. (As with Santorini in general ) I witnessed a fellow guest who used a walking stick have some difficulty getting round the building . The pool area is stunning and we used it daily. It overlooks Fira town and to the sea beyond . There is a pool bar that offer drinks and food. Just one fault , observation, is that there are no toilet facilities around the pool and guests have to go downstairs a couple of floors to find the nearest amenities. Fira town is busy and bustling and the hotel really did offer an oasis of calm and stillness the perfect antidote after a day out sightseeing or shopping . A unique place, being a former monastery is both its strength and it’s weakness . There is no real heart to the place, no real congregation point or focal energy, there is a residents bar, but it’s a small conservatory in the courtyard, not that inviting . However You walk through the long halls and walk ways with high whitewashed ceilings as did monks so long ago and there is a sense of peace and calm you can’t recreate that, it’s what this place is about. Combined with the friendly, excellent staff this was a beautiful stay we enjoyed very much .…
This hotel is an amazing place , the setting is out of this world , rooms were spotless and always made up . Food was out of this world along with some of the best service we have had and we have travelled all over the world . Especially the restaurant staff - their manager Theodoros Smyrnis - Loanna, Olga, Nikos , Sultana and Charis - they where there before we even knew we needed anything and were so cheerful, attentive and polite, nothing was to much trouble - it made our stay ! Thank you so much !
From the moment we got here the staff were exceptional. Couldn’t do enough for us. Pool area is amazing again, staff were great here . Breakfast was amazing variety of choice. Had a spa treatment and this was to die for. Best thing about this holiday was I got engaged something I will never forget. Would 100% recommend this hotel amazing!
The accommodations at Katikies Garden on Lemon Suites were incredible. The breakfast was unbelievable each day as well and the staff was attentive and responsive. The room we had had a view of the Oceanside of the island OPPOSITE the volcano, so some days were a bit windier on that side of the island.
